1. Union Minister of Human Rights, U Aung Myo Min, received the Gold Medal from the Sydney Peace Foundation

It is reported that Union Minister of Human Rights, U Aung Myo Min, received the Gold Medal from the Sydney Peace Foundation.

On June 2, National Unity Government of Myanmar (NUG), Union Minister for Human Rights, U Aung Myo Min received the Gold Medal for Human Rights 2023 award in recognition of his ongoing advocacy for peace and human rights in Myanmar by Sydney Peace Foundation at the University of Sydney, Australia. 

The Professor Rodney Smith, Interim Head of the School of Social and Political Sciences awarded the Gold Medal for Human Rights to the Union Minister U Aung Myo Min.

Dr. Susan Banki, Sydney Peace Foundation board member and Asia-Pacific expert in the University of Sydney’s School of Social and Political Sciences said the following.

“It’s a great honour to recognise Minister U Aung Myo Min with the Sydney Peace Foundation Gold Medal for Human Rights, for inspiring a generation of pro-democracy advocates in Myanmar. Union Minister U Aung Myo Min’s lifelong work, most often practiced under deeply restrictive conditions, is an example of how hope, courage, and the values of justice can grow out of the most difficult circumstances.”

The gold medal awarding ceremony was attended by Union Minister U Aung Myo Min, Dr. Tun Aung Shwe of NUG Representative Office – Australia, Myanmar community from Sydney, ethnic forces, and pro-democracy activists.

2. The Deputy Minister of Education said that students should learn what is within their reach for interim education

It is reported that the Deputy Minister of Education said that students should learn what is within their reach for interim education.

NUG Deputy Minister for Education Jar Htoi Pan stated about interim education:

“All students who have learned in various ways during the interim period must be accepted according to the policies of the people’s government after the revolution. What I want to say is that for interim education, learn as much as you can. Learn about federal education concepts, policies, and education systems. Give priority to improving your own skills and knowledge rather than attending classes. No one can deny the skills and knowledge that have been acquired by studying hard.”

Currently, there are CDM students, and after the victory of the revolution, they will be given the right to attend classes according to their age, the Ministry of Education has also informed.

In June, the report of the Burma Affairs and Conflict Study Group was reposted by Mindat Township People’s Administration.

“During the period spanning from January to April of the current year, the military council engaged in offensive operations against the revolutionary forces. Although the majority of these attacks and instances of gunfire occurred in Sagaing, it was observed that Chin State endured the highest frequency of aerial assaults. Chin State experienced a total of 38 air attacks, resulting in the unfortunate loss of 19 civilian lives and 6 revolutionaries. Furthermore, Sagaing, where the conflict persisted, witnessed 37 airstrikes. 

The townships of Thantalan, Mindat, and Matupi bore the brunt of the attacks, with a particular emphasis on Thantalan Township, which experienced a total of 17 assaults.

The airstrikes targeted non-combatant residential villages, resulting in significant damage to numerous residential structures.” 

5. In the town of Kyainseikgyi in Karen State, junta soldiers recklessly opened fire on a residential area with heavy weapons, killing three people and a monk, and injuring a novice

In the town of Kyainseikgyi in Karen State, junta soldiers recklessly opened fire on a residential area with heavy weapons, killing three people and a monk, and injuring a novice.

On the morning of June 2, the Kyainseikgyi PaKaFa confirmed that junta soldiers fired 120 mm heavy weapons into monasteries, mosques and residential areas that were not military targets.

“At 4:30 a.m. this morning, in Kyainseikgyi of Karen State, the revolutionary forces raided and attacked the junta soldiers stationed in the police station, general administration office and various departments, which are the pillars of the military council. The battle was fierce and the junta soldiers fired 120mm heavy weapons into monasteries, mosques and residential areas that were not military targets. Mani Yadana Seminary in Ward No. 3 was hit by 3 shells, a novice was injured, a monk died, and many buildings were damaged,” it stated.

In addition, two people from Ward No. (6) died on the spot when a large weapon hit their house and exploded, and a child was seriously injured and died soon after.

6. When the terrorist military leader Min Aung Hlaing was at Myingyan Military and Steel Factory 1, the LIB-15 based in Myingyan was bombed by a drone

It is reported that while the terrorist military leader Min Aung Hlaing was at Myingyan Military and Steel Factory 1, the LIB-15 based in Myingyan was bombed by a drone.

In the morning of May 31, the Natogyi People Defense Force (Myingyan District Battalion-4) attacked the terrorist leader (Min Aung Hlaing) according to information that he was at the Myingyan Military and Steel Factory 1.

“Natogyi People Defense Force (Myingyan District Battalion-4) conducted an air attack on LIB-15 based in Myingyan, Myingyan District, Mandalay Division. At 11:45 a.m. on May 31, the Natogyi People Defense Force went to attack the terrorist leader Min Aung Hlaing according to information that he arrived at Myingyan Military and Steel Factory 1,” it stated.

7 junta soldiers were reportedly killed and 8 injured in the attack.

The attack was carried out by Natogyi People Defense Force (Myingyan District Battalion-4), in cooperation with Myingyan District Drone Strike Team, Myingyan District Battalion-1, Myingyan District Battalion-3, and Myingyan District Battalion-8.

7. A junta sergeant from DI-21 was shot dead near the religious temple at the new Baho ward in No. 11 territory in Chauk Township

On June 2, Chauk Township People’s Defense Forces (PaKaFa) announced that a junta sergeant from DI-21 was shot dead near the religious temple at the new Baho ward in No. 11 territory in Chauk Township.

“On June 2, at around 9:30 a.m., we were able to successfully exterminate Sergeant Aung Thu Tint (aka) Tike Kyat of DI-21 in cooperation with the allied forces near the religious temple at the new Baho ward at No. 11 territory in Chauk Township,” it stated.

Aung Thu Tint (aka) Tike Kyat, the buyer of DI-21, is the disciple of junta captain Yan Naing from the DI-21, and he is said to be a sergeant.

Secret documents and related equipment were seized when sergeant Aung Thu Tint (aka) Tike Kyat was killed. 

8. For Magway District Battalion-2, the “RPG Campaign for Anyar Region” begins

It is reported that the “RPG Campaign for the Anyar Region” has started for the Magway District Battalion-2.

On June 2, the Fundraising Team of Magway District Battalion-2 made an announcement.

“The current campaign is a 30 million kyat campaign organized by the Fundraising Team of our Magway District Battalion-2 to purchase an RPG. Our Magway District Battalion-2 is in urgent need of an RPG to defend the front line and conduct operations in order to gain control of the area in Magway District, so we organized this campaign,” it stated.

In the RPG campaign, 1,500 raffle tickets can be purchased at a rate of 20,000 kyats per ticket from June 1st to July 31st within 2 months of the campaign period.

People who participate will be raffled off for a Super Four (Honda CB400SF) motorcycle worth about 4 million kyats belonging to a comrade.
