The acting president Duwa Lashi La said that the entire ethnic population is eager to eradicate the evil dictatorial system as quickly as possible. The NUG acting president stated this at the 74th Pa’O National Day ceremony on March 5.
“The entire ethnic people are eager to eliminate the evil dictatorial system quickly and have been actively participating in the revolution with their lives, blood, and sweat. I am especially pleased to see the Pa’O people participating in this revolution journey.”
In addition, the Acting President reiterated that he would like to see Pa’O’s national leadership role clearly in the future new federal democratic state.

The Union Prime Minister Mahn Win Khaing Than urged the public to constantly motivate and act in order to develop good practices that comply with the law. The Prime Minister said the following at the Interim Judicial Affairs Committee’s (3/2023) meeting on March 4:
“According to the current ground situation, some issues can be resolved through military tribunals and military laws, while others must be resolved through local negotiations in order to adapt to local and interim conditions. As we are fighting defense and resistance wars at one time in the current situation, it is critical to constantly motivate and act in this transition period in order to develop good practices that comply with the law.”
The meeting was attended by the committee chairman, Union Prime Minister U Mahn Win Khaing Than, vice chairman (2), Union Minister of Justice U Thein Oo, Home Affairs and Immigration Minister U Lwin Ko Latt, Deputy Minister U Khu Hte Bu, Human Rights Deputy Minister Khun Baham Htan, Federal Union Affairs Deputy Minister U Chit Tun, and others department officials.
3. Human Rights Minister says the victory will come quickly if the public’s strength, respect, and trust are used to establish a new federal democratic state
Union Minister of Human Rights U Aung Myo Min stated that if the public’s strength, respect, and trust are used to establish a new federal democratic state, victory will come quickly. The Minister made the remarks during a meeting with the NUG’s Interim Local Public Administration Central Committee and Public Administration Groups from the Bago, Ayeyarwady, and Tanintharyi regions on March 5.
“The objectives of the Spring Revolution include civilian human rights protection, security and law enforcement, and opposition to the military dictatorship. Civilians in the administration area must be protected. The victory will come quickly if the public’s strength, respect, and trust in the various townships and regions can be used to establish a new federal democratic state,” the Minister said.
The meeting was attended by Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent secretaries, associate secretaries, department officials, and members of Public Administration Groups from the Bago, Ayeyarwady, and Tanintharyi regions.
4. Union Minister Naw Susanna Hla Hla Soe urged the public to participate in the photo campaign for International Women’s Day
The NUG Union Minister Naw Susanna Hla Hla Soe urged the public to participate in the photo campaign for International Women’s Day. On March 5, the Union Minister for Women, Youth, and Children Affairs stated on social media as follows:
“It can clearly be seen that women are playing a leading role in this spring revolution. Similarly, it is necessary to encourage women to prioritize equal rights and participation in Myanmar society. Therefore, a photo campaign for International Women’s Day will be held this year, and the general public is encouraged to participate.”
International Women’s Day is coming up on March 8, 2023, and every year on this day, activities are held to promote women’s and gender rights and equality. In honor of International Women’s Day, the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC), Gender Policy Coordinating Committee and our Women, Youths and Children Affairs Ministry will hold an online webinar to celebrate International Women’s Day.
5. Deputy Minister of Human Rights says the role of UG and Urban Guerrilla Forces is critical
U Khun Baham Htan, Deputy Minister of Human Rights, said on March 5 that the role of the UG and urban guerrilla forces is critical.
“The Urban guerrillas and UGs play a critical role in establishing a true federal democracy and human rights based federal democratic state. When we look at different countries around the world where a large country like the United States arrested Osama bin Laden, we can see how critical the role of underground intelligence groups and urban guerrillas, rather than military force, is.”
It was included in the opening speech of NUG Human Rights Deputy Minister Khun Baham Htan at the “Urban Guerrilla” special fundraiser held in Wyndham Vale, Melbourne, Australia, on March 4.
6. One-third of Myanmar’s population requires humanitarian aid
One-third of Myanmar’s population requires humanitarian aid, according to UN OCHA Myanmar on March 5.
“Humanitarian needs are increasing across Myanmar, and aid access conditions are worsening. By 2023, one-third of the Myanmar population will be in need of humanitarian aid,” it stated.
According to the most recent United Nations figures, the number of displaced people in southeastern Myanmar had risen to 361,000 as of January 30, 2023. There have been more than 1.5 million internally displaced people in Myanmar, of which 1.2 million have fled their homes due to the conflict and insecurity that occurred after the coup on February 2021.
7. Yaw PDF introduces handmade grenades with a range of up to 50-feet
The Yaw People’s Defense Force has introduced a rope-based hand grenade that is effective up to 50 feet. The YPDF announced their product on March 5.
“It was temporarily suspended due to raw material shortages but is now ready to resume production. It will be distributed to our comrades soon.”
It was manufactured based on the KIA model and will primarily be used for close combat.
8. Comrades from the Wetlet LPDF Acid successfully produce handmade rifles
Comrades from Wetlet LPDF Acid are reported to have succeeded in producing handmade rifles. The Wetlet LPDF Acid reported in March as follows:
We have been able to successfully produce handmade rifles with the help of our Acid comrades. The project completed last month was intended for five rifles, but only one was available. However, we were able to increase production by purchasing and installing as much as we could. Previously, we only focused on producing heavy weapons, but now it has been able to manufacture small rifles.
The production cost of one handmade rifle is 600,000 kyats and has a range of 300 meters and a magnitude of 150 to 200 meters.
9. One policewoman defects to the Central Revolutionary Coalition (CRC-PLA)
According to the report, one policewoman has defected to the Central Revolutionary Coalition (CRC-PLA). On March 5, the Central Revolutionary Coalition (CRC-PLA) reported as follows:
“A policewoman has defected to the Central Revolutionary Coalition (CRC-PLA). She contacted the CRC-PLA and joined CDM because she couldn’t tolerate the bullying of the fascist army.”
It is known that CRC-PLA is currently taking responsibility for the policewoman’s health and safety, and she is safe. The remaining non-CDMers under the military council are also urged to join the CDM.
10. Defense forces launched a mine attack on junta troops and Pyu Saw Htee family members
Defense forces launched a mine attack on junta troops and Pyu Saw Htee family members travelling from Kanni Pyu village to Myaing town for shopping. On March 5, Myaing PDF confirmed the battle news as follows:
“On March 4, junta troops and Pyu Saw Htee’s family members were attacked with mines and bombarded by drones while travelling from Kanni Pyu village to Myaing for shopping. Due to the attack, they did not return to Kanni village and spent the night in Myaing town. On March 5, around 08:00 a.m., they were attacked by landmines on the road, north of Nyaungpin village, injuring 9 Pyu Saw Htee and junta troops.”
Then, 9 mines were detonated north of Paukpyin village at 12:25 p.m., injuring 7 junta forces and taking them to the Myaing hospital by car. At 02:29 p.m., two bombs were dropped on military council troops and Pyu Saw Htee between Kyaungkone and Thanpuyarchan villages, injuring two junta forces and three Pyu Saw Htee. The operation was carried out by Myaing PDF Battalion 2, Divisions 3 and 4, as well as Bo Lin Mgwe from Myaing PDF.
