1. Union Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung holds talks with UK and Canadian UN Representatives
According to the press releases of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Daw Zin Mar Aung, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the National Unity Government, had meetings with Ambassador Ms. Dame Barbara Woodward, Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the United Nation, and Mr. Bob Rae, Permanent Representative of Canada to the United Nations, on September 25.
In her meeting with UK Ambassador Ms. Barbara Woodward, Union Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung conveyed her gratitude for the UK’s leadership role in the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2669 concerning Myanmar. During the discussion, she stressed the necessity of a legally binding resolution aimed at effectively preventing the provision of arms, jet fuel, and financial resources to the Myanmar military.
The same day, Union Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung met with Mr. Bob Rae, the Canadian ambassador, to discuss ways to increase pressure on the regime.
2. Human Rights Minister U Aung Myo Min meets with FUEN President Mr. Vnicze Lorant
U Aung Myo Min, Union Minister for Human Rights of the National Unity Government, had a meeting with Mr. Vnicze Lorant, Member of the European Parliament for the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania and the President of the Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN), on September 25 to discuss issues related to Rohingya and other minorities in Myanmar. The Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN) is an international non-governmental organization that advocates for the rights of ethnic and national minority groups in Europe.
Mr. Vnicze Lorant shared his meeting with Union Minister U Aung Myo Min on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). In his post, he reiterated the significance of supporting the National Unity Government in its efforts to promote democracy and foster a tolerant society.
3. Deputy Human Rights Minister stresses the Importance of Consistent Righteousness and Rationality for Humanity
On September 26, U Aung Kyaw Moe, Deputy Minister for Human Rights of the National Unity Government, shared the statement: “A person who consistently stands on the side of righteousness while employing rationality is inherently more humane.”
The Ministry of Human Rights of the National Unity Government is working to document the records of human rights violations and crimes against the community committed by the terrorist military junta in order to be able to take action and punish them in international courts.
4. A Campaign is Launched to Bring Internet Access to Five Townships
On September 24, on the launch day of the campaign aimed at bringing internet access to areas where internet connection has been cut off by the military junta, U Htin Linn Aung, Union Minister for NUG’s Ministry of Communications, Information and Technology, along with officials from the ministry, ground communication personnel, and fundraisers around the world, engaged in online discussions.
In his opening remarks during the discussion, Union Minister U Htin Linn Aung emphasised the critical role of the communication sector, highlighting that if communication is disrupted, it will significantly hinder the progress of the revolution. He pointed out that the communication sector is vital for disseminating information about the actions taken by the military council. Additionally, he mentioned that internet access has already been established in Karenni State and is currently being extended to the Sagaing Region.
A campaign to bring internet access to areas where internet connections have been cut off by the military. In this campaign, the public will have the opportunity to become 49% shareholders, while the government will retain a 51% stake to cover the required budget. The first phase of this campaign aims to install internet services in five townships within the areas controlled by the NUG, requiring $50,000 per township. Meetings related to the campaign will also be scheduled.
5. Junta troops storm in Depeyin’s Let Yet Kone Village, firing heavy weapons and small arms
On September 26, the Depeyin Township Brothers Group reported that the terrorist military troops stormed Let Yet Kone village, Depeyin Township, Sagaing Region, firing both heavy weapons and small arms. After that, the troops reportedly continued to Mu Khan Twin village.
The people have been urged to exercise special caution and seek safety to avoid the threat posed by heavy weapons.
