1. The Union Prime Minister says that only the elimination of the terrorist military junta will alleviate the daily hardships faced by the people
At the 30th 2023 Cabinet meeting of the National Unity Government, Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khaing Thann remarked:
“As the government, we must always prioritise completely getting rid of the military council, which is the most important task in this revolution. If we are to save the people from the hardships that they are facing every day, the only way is to root out the terrorist leader Min Aung Hlaing-led military council. Therefore, I would like to urge the ministries to put more effort into the sectors that will directly support the revolution than their routine processes.”
The military junta is currently losing ground in the Karenni State, Karen State, Sagaing Division, and Magway Division, day by day.
2. Union Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe reveals that the U.S. is planning to provide direct humanitarian aid to the people in ethnic areas
During this week’s People to People interview programme, Union Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe responded to the question about international humanitarian aid:
“The U.S. government as well as organisations are now cooperating with us on this matter. The NUCC, NUG, and EROs are engaging with the international organisations. In the U.S., we already have some MOUs and LOAs with relevant parliamentary bodies as well as with the government. Although the humanitarian aid will not be provided directly to the NUG, it will go directly to the ethnic organisations on the ground. Even though the aid will not be received through the NUG, it is best that it be delivered to ethnic organisations and people in need on the ground.”
Union Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe recently visited the United States and met with representatives of the U.S. government as well as organisations that are affiliated with the government in 14 official meetings and 6 informal meetings.
3. Myanmar delegation led by Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun attends the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 78)
Myanmar delegation led by Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun, Permanent Representative of Myanmar to the United Nations, attended the closing and final plenary meeting of the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 77), which took place at 10:00 a.m. on September 5, 2023, as well as the opening and the first plenary meeting of the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 78), which were organised on September 5, 2023, which took place at 3:00 p.m., according to the press release of the NUG Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
At the conclusion of UNGA 77, UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed thanked outgoing General Assembly President Csaba Krösi for his work over the previous year. Mr. Krösi also made remarks during which he shared the actions and findings of his term, left messages for the member states, and expressed gratitude to all pertinent parties.
Following the speech of the outgoing President inside the ornate General Assembly Hall, Dennis Francis, President-Elect of the 78th session, took the oath of office of the presidency, vowing to discharge its responsibilities to the best of his ability.
Thereafter, President Kőrösi formally handed the famous, ornate wooden gavel over to his successor, and adjourned the meeting.
4. The Women Alliance Burma pledges to advocate for the rights and empowerment of Myanmar women in the face of all forms of injustice and oppression
On September 6th, the Women Alliance Burma (WAB) released a statement to mark its second anniversary.
With efforts without deviating from its goals during the last two years since its inception, the WAB pledged in the statement that it will continue to stand in front of Myanmar women in the revolutionary journey to fight against all injustices and oppression against women. The WAB also promised to make continuous efforts to connect with relevant organisations until the goals it set are fulfilled.
5. PDF allies launch a rocket attack on a junta column stationed in a private computer training school in Monywa City, Sagaing
On September 6, the Brother Defence Force, Squadron 1 of the People’s Defence Force (PDF) Yinmabin District Battalion No. 16, released a report on a rocket attack against junta soldiers.
According to the report, on September 5, the PDF allies launched an attack against the military junta column stationed in Shwe Taung Oo private computer training school, Monywa City, Sagaing Region, by using three rockets between 1:45 p.m. and 2:20 p.m.
Reportedly, the Brother Defence Force, the One Star Task Force (Squadrons 1 and 2 of the Yinmarbin District PDF Battalion No. 16), and the Mae Hmaung Guerrilla Force collaborated in the attack. and the extent of the damage to the opposing side has not yet been determined.
