1. The Acting President says that it is important to put an end to the revolution quickly in order to prevent people from being oppressed and killed by the terrorist military
At the 14th Cabinet Meeting (2023) of the National Unity Government held on April 11, Acting President Duwa Lashi La said that it is crucial to put an end to the revolution quickly in order to prevent people from being oppressed and killed by the terrorist military.
“The situation in our country is that, in order to prevent the people from being oppressed and killed by the terrorist military in our own country, it is important to put an end to the revolution, and it is also necessary to obtain international protection as soon as possible at the moment. So it is important to get evidence so that we can take action against the terrorist military in accordance with international law,” said the Acting President.
In addition, the acting president added that the terrorist military leader, who is unable to keep the power he has seized by force, is working in various ways to respond to the loss and to create misunderstandings among the people and the revolutionary forces who are on the people’s side.

At the 23rd Kayan National Day ceremony held in Indianapolis, USA, on April 10, Khun Baham Htan, Deputy Minister of Human Rights of the National Unity Government, said that one of the ultimate goals of the Kayan people is the end of all dictatorship, including the military dictatorship.
He said: “The Kayan people, who are participating in the current revolution that emerged after the military coup, have also paid with their lives, blood, and sweat and continue to take part in the struggle together with other ethnic sibling groups. According to the tradition, Kayan nationals have always fought with other ethnic sibling groups out of a sense of nationalism, and the history is proof for it. One of the ultimate goals of the Kayan people is to end all kinds of dictatorships, including the military dictatorship, to achieve national equality and self-determination, and to build a federal democratic union.”
U Aung Kyi Nyunt, Chairman of the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH); U Moe Zaw Oo, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the National Unity Government (NUG); Khun Baham Htan, Deputy Minister of Human Rights of the NUG; and Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun, Representative of the Permanent Mission of Myanmar to the UN, attended the ceremony.
3. The spokesperson for the Office of the Acting President claims that the junta’s poor management of the electricity sector is causing foreign investment to leave the country, losses in the electricity sector, and the power outage
U Kyaw Zaw, spokesperson for the Office of the Acting President, told Radio NUG that the power outage is due to the loss in the electricity sector due to the leaving of foreign investment, which is a result of the poor management of the terrorist military council, as follows:
“The mismanagement of the terrorist military council, their incompetence have caused the failure of the economic sector, which is declining from all sides; foreign investments are leaving, especially in the electricity sector. At a time when investment in the energy and electricity sectors has stopped, foreign investments are leaving. For example, the Hong Kong-based energy-generating vessel left. Then, due to their mismanagement, the electricity is lost. When we were under the People’s Government NLD government, the electricity was shining brightly in all parts of Myanmar. But now, as a result of this terrorist military council, the entire country is without electricity, and the people are struggling in the dark. Each and every citizen has to work to tackle these challenges by supporting one another.
We see that the military council is trying to spread propaganda to blame the revolutionary comrades for these electricity outages. I would like to say from here that the revolutionary comrades and revolutionary forces, who are waging a war of resistance to protect the lives and properties of the people, are working as hard as possible to avoid doing work that will harm the people. All revolutionary comrades recognise that we are fighting for the best interests of the people and are therefore working carefully to avoid harming them. Because of the poor management and corruption of the military council, people are suffering economic failure and a lack of electricity in many parts of Myanmar. In light of this, I would like to implore everyone to cooperate in order to bring the evil dictatorship to an end as quickly as possible and create a peaceful and prosperous new federal democratic union through the success of the spring revolution.”

Energy and natural gas corporations are gradually leaving Myanmar.
4. The military council launched air raids at Pazigyi village, Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region, claiming over 50 lives, including children and pregnant women
According to the local reports, on the morning of April 11, the military council launched air strikes at Pazigyi village in Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Division.
“On the morning of April 11, as of the time we received the information, more than 50 civilians were killed and many others were injured in Pazigyi village, Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Division, due to air strikes by the military council,” local reports said.
The area around where the bomb landed has been irreparably devastated.
Similarly, on April 10, 2023, at about 11:00 a.m., nine civilians, including a CDM school principal and his family members, were killed when the military council air bombed Waibula new town in Falam Township, Chin State, including on a school building and a football ground.
5. The CDF-Hakha Council declares political parties registered with the military council’s election commission as illegal associations
The CDF-Hakha Council issued Statement No. 2/2023 on April 11, declaring parties registered with the military council’s election commission as illegal associations.
“As announced by the CDF-Hakha Council on January 9, 2023, with Statement No. 1/2023, the parties registered with the coup military council for the survival of their own party rather than the benefit of the country and the people, and to prolong the life of the terrorist military dictator, have been declared illegal associations as of today.”
The CDF-Hakha Council has warned that it will continue to take necessary actions against those parties and those involved in organising the dictatorial elections.
6. Targeted arrests of instructors teaching online in connection with the MOE-NUG have risen, with 15 teachers recently arrested
On April 10, the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) made the following statement regarding the junta’s targeted arrests of teachers:
“According to the data collected the last few weeks by the Research and Documentation Department of AAPP, detentions targeting school teachers have accelerated. 15 teachers including Ei Shwe Sin Myint, a leader of Federal School of Aungmyaythazan in Aungmyaythazan Township, Mandalay Region, were arrested. The Federal School of Aungmyaythazan is linked with the Ministry of Education of the National Unity Government and provides online education.”
Since the 2021 military coup, a total of 21,300 people have been arrested as of April 10, 2023, of which 17,421 are still in detention and 5,586 of those detained have been sentenced to prison, according to the AAPP.
7. The revolutionary fundraising project “The Fence,” which seeks to raise 1 billion MMK in 21 days, has extended the campaign period by one week, and people are urged to continue contributing to the campaign
The Fence Project announced the following about the campaign on April 11:
“Project ‘The Fence’ reached 78% of its target on the 23rd day. We would like to be at our full target percentage on the following days that have been extended one week from the 21st. Some of the revolutionary people have contributed two or more times to our campaign, so we also thank them very much.”
Currently, Myanmar, Singapore, and Thailand have contributed the most to the project in terms of currency.
The Fence Project is a project aimed at raising “1 billion Myanmar Kyats to replenish weapons and ammunition within 21 days” for the Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF) Strategy 4, and the campaign period has recently been extended until April 16.
The proceeds of “The Fence Project” will reportedly be given directly to KNDF Strategy 4.
8. The documentary film “We Will Share The Merit Only After We Are Free” will be screened in United States on May 6
On April 11, the New York City Burmese Community (NYCBC) executive Ko Nay Tin Myint told Radio NUG about the screening of the film “We Will Share The Merit Only After We Are Free” as follows:
“We are going to have a movie screening in New York City, USA, on May 6th. The name of the film is ‘We Will Share The Merit Only After We Are Free.’ The film was directed by comedians Ko Sein Thee and Ko Aung Thaw, based on a true story in Karenni State. The film is sponsored by the Myanmar Federal Democratic Mission Coalition (MFDMC) and supported by everyone. Those who play in the film are our revolutionary comrades who were involved in the actual revolution. For the United States, we, the New York City Burmese Community, take responsibility and are working to screen it in other states as well. The film screening will be held four times at a hall in Manhattan, New York City: once at 11:30 a.m., once at 1:30 p.m., once at 3:30 p.m., and once at 5:30 p.m. on the coming Sunday, May 6. The duration of the film is only 45 minutes. At the end of the film, as a second program, we will auction paintings, photos, and memorabilia. Following that, as the third program, we intend to conduct an audience Q&A with directors Ko Sein Thee and Ko Aung Thaw. This movie is a true story, and for the revolutionary people, it is also a movie that is really worth watching. Another thing is that we will, through Ko Sein Thee and Ko Aung Thaw, use the proceeds of this screening to support the revolution, with 60% going to the MOD and the remaining 40% to CDM artists. I would like to say that we, the NYCBC, as the United States representative of the film screening, have arranged to present the movie as the best.”
