Acting President Duwa Lashi La said at the 21st cabinet meeting of the National Unity Government that it is necessary to use the transitional constitution draft in the current situation.
“The drafting of the transitional constitution is not free from the basic principles, and it is especially necessary to be able to use it in the current situation. Acts cannot be different from principles, as well as the form of governance cannot be different from principles. I would like to tell you to pay special attention to this. We, who are leading the current Spring Revolution politically and militarily, need to make the appropriate preparations without leaving the actual situation. When preparing the draft, the wishes of the ethnic groups and the freedom of the people must be included. We will have to draft a strong political agreement that guarantees that right,” he said.
At the meeting, the Union Minister of the Ministry of Federal Union Affairs, Dr. Lian Hmung Sakhong, discussed the matter presented to record the transitional constitution draft prepared by the TCPC.

Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khaing Thann said at the 21/2023 cabinet meeting of the National Unity Government held on June 27 that the National Unity Government is always ready to work together with allied organizations facing towards the revolution.
“We would like to say that our government is always ready to work together with true revolutionary spirit, whether it is with allied organizations or individuals facing towards the revolution,” the Union Prime Minister said.
Currently, the National Unity Government is cooperating with ethnic revolutionary organizations in political and military operations, as well as meeting with ground strike forces.
3. The Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) held a meeting with the township people’s administrative bodies of Yangon Division
On June 27, the meeting between the NUG’s Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) and the township people’s administrative bodies of Yangon Division (12/2023) was held.
At the meeting, Permanent Secretary of the Union Prime Minister Office, a secretary member of ILACC, gave an opening speech.
Following, members of the township people’s administrative bodies exchanged views with relevant officials regarding policies, directions, operations, and challenges encountered on the ground.
The meeting was attended by Permanent Secretaries, Associate Secretaries, officials from ministries, and members of the township people’s administrative bodies of Yangon Division.
4. From June 1 to June 27, there were a total of (81) people who were sentenced to prison for baseless charges by the junta courts, with the highest number (70) from Sagaing Region
According to the data collected by the AAPP (Assistance Association for Political Prisoners), there were a total of (81) people who were sentenced to prison for baseless charges by the junta courts, with the highest number (70) from Sagaing Region.
“From June 1 to 27 in 2023, junta’s courts across the country sentenced (15) women and (66) men; (81) in total, to serve prison terms under baseless charges. Sagaing Region records the highest in terms of such sentences with (70),” it stated.
Among the (81) imprisoned, (4) people have been serving long-term additional sentences under specious charges such as Penal Code and Counter-Terrorism Law.
Moreover, (23) women and (117) men; (140) in total have been arrested across the country with (46) people in Sagaing Region alone.
5. Artillery shells fired by the terrorist military exploded in the Kyauk Mine area near Myawaddy Town, injuring 4 villagers
On June 27, the Black Panther Column informed that artillery shells fired by the terrorist military exploded in the Kyauk Mine area near Myawaddy Town, injuring 4 villagers.
“On June 24, at around 7:00 p.m., two 120-mm artillery shells fired by the IB-275 under the Southeastern Regional Military Command of the terrorist military council exploded in the Kyauk Mine area near Myawaddy Town,” it stated.
It was reported that 4 villagers were injured and some of the civilian houses were damaged by the shells.
6. A total of 9 people, including 7 men, 1 woman, and a monk, were killed in an air attack by the junta forces in the vicinity of Nyaung Kone Village and Chin Pyit Village in Pale Township
A total of 9 people, including 7 men, 1 woman, and a monk, were killed in an air strike by the junta’s jet fighters in the vicinity of Nyaung Kone Village and Chin Pyit Village in Pale Township, Sagaing Division.
On June 27, at 3:25 p.m., the Yinmarbin District Battalion-19 (Pale Jokers PDF) informed that an air attack was carried out by the junta forces.
“A total of 9 people, including 7 men, 1 woman, and a monk, were killed and 6 were injured in Nyaung Kone Village due to the air attack by the junta forces. 13 houses and the monastery were also destroyed,” it stated.
It is reported that the air strike lasted about 15 minutes.
7. Junta soldiers burned and destroyed the village of Ngar Pan Chaung in Wetlet Township
It is reported that the junta soldiers burned down the village of Ngar Pan Chaung in Wetlet Township, Sagaing Region.
On June 27th, the GZ Special Task Force – Wetlet informed about the arson of the junta soldiers.
“Approximately 50 junta soldiers who set fire to Thayetpinseik Village have reached the village of Ngar Pan Chaung and are setting it on fire, so we advised people living in Thitseintgyi, Hpayarlaykone, Kugyi, Hlaypotseik, Ywarthit, Yegamoe, and Sharkwe to take special care,” it stated.
Over 3,000 local people have been fleeing the war since the first week of June in the villages in the eastern part of Wetlet Township.
8. 15 junta soldiers were killed in an attack on junta troops stationed at the Road Transport Administration Office in Monywa
On June 27, Monywa District People Defence Force (Chindwin Attack Force) informed that 15 junta soldiers were killed in an attack on the junta troops stationed in Monywa Town.
“The Special Commando Force (Monywa The Boys) of Monywa District People Defence Force (Chindwin Attack Force) Battalion-4, along with Monywa District Battalion-5, Monywa District Battalion-7, Monywa District Battalion-12, Monywa District Battalion-22, Monywa District Battalion-25, Monywa District Battalion-28, Yinmarbin District Battalion-28 and the Myanmar’s Royal Dragon Army (MRDA), jointly attacked the junta troops stationed at Monywa’s Road Transport Administration Office on June 24 at around 6:00 p.m.,” it stated.
It is reported that 15 junta soldiers were killed in the attack.
9. A public strike against military dictatorship was held in Launglon Township, Dawei District
On the afternoon of June 27, Dawei District Democracy Movement Strike Committee (DDMSC) led a public strike against the military dictatorship in Launglon Township, Dawei District.
It is reported that the movement was held under the banner “Only people are the main in ending the military dictatorship” and many women, youths, and people participated and marched, shouting slogans against the military dictatorship.
The Democracy Movement Strike Committee (Dawei District) said that in a successful revolution, public uprisings and public power are key, and the method of fighting in which all classes can participate is also a key method of fighting against dictatorship and building a union.
