1. NUG’s Foreign Minister says that the National Unity Government only expects more cooperation with India in the future of the new nation
On January 26, Foreign Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of India’s 74th Republic Day and her warmest wishes for a great day to the people of India and the Republic of India in her message.
The Union Minister also said in her message:
“We also hope that India will understand the struggle of the Myanmar people to end the military dictatorship once and for all, just as we have gone through the ups and downs of history together. Our National Unity Government and the people of Myanmar, we understand the importance of India in the region. The new Federal Democratic Union that we are envisioning can only spread stability and peace in the region and will make the interests and economic projects of India more productive. We expect more cooperation with India in the form of future nation.”
Furthermore, the Union Minister stated that Myanmar and India are neighbouring countries that are related by historical traditions, cultural heritage, faith, and customs, and that they have travelled through historical turning points and shared the good and bad things of history together.
2. The German Bundesrat (Upper House) and Bundestag (Lower House) says that the works of the CRPH are maintaining a democratic foundation for the future of Myanmar, where the military rule will end
On January 25, the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) said that the German Bundesrat (Upper House) and Bundestag (Lower House) had sent a letter saying that the works of the CRPH are maintaining the foundation of democracy for the future of Myanmar, where the military rule would end.
“Your Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) currently represents the sole democratically legitimised representative body of the people in Myanmar. Your work — even if it can only take place virtually at present — maintains a democratic foundation for the future of Myanmar once military rule has ended. As freely-elected representatives, your presence provides many people in your country with hope, along with the strength to stand up for their democratic rights and their freedom.” — the German Bundestag and the Bundesrat
Moreover, the President of the German Bundesrat and the President of the German Bundestag said in their letter, “In these difficult times, we continue to stand firmly at your side.”

3. Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun urged the United Nations to uphold the R2P principle
On January 24, Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun, Permanent Representative of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the United Nations, delivered a statement at the ECOSOC Special Meeting with the title “Social and economic measures to prevent genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing, and crimes against humanity.”
“It is important to take necessary social and economic measure to prevent genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity. Equally I wish to stress that it is high time for this UN to raise a single voice, uphold the principle of the responsibility to protect and act collectively by using all tools at its disposal to hold perpetrators including the military junta accountable and end their cycle of impunity.” — Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun, Permanent Representative of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the UN
The ambassador added that the initial call by the people of Myanmar for the exercise of the principle of responsibility to protect and the declaration of a no-fly zone by the UN had not yielded any results.
4. The NUG begins judicial operations in Khin-U Township
The Khin-U Township Legal Office of the Ministry of Justice, the national Unity Government, was opened on January 24 and announced that the judicial operations in Khin-U Township had begun.
The opening ceremony of the Khin-U Township Legal Office was attended by representatives of the Township People’s Administration (PaAhHpa) and the Township People’s Defence Force (PaKaHpa) in Khin-U Township.
The National Unity Government established Katha Township Court as well as legal offices in Sagaing Division, and the People’s Police Services are also being established in various regions.
5. Counselor of the U.S. Department of State Derek Chollet met with UN Special Rapporteur Tom Andrews to discuss the human rights crisis in Myanmar
The U.S. Department of State announced on January 26 that Counselor of the U.S. Department of State Derek Chollet had a meeting with UN Special Rapporteur Tom Andrews to discuss the human rights crisis in Myanmar.
Counselor Chollet said about the meeting, “Promoting accountability for the military’s horrific violence is vital for ending the crisis and establishing genuine and inclusive democracy in Burma.”
6. The Myanmar Federal Democratic Mission Coalition (MFDMC) donated 150,000 Thai baht to the headquarters of the 6th Brigade of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA)
On January 26, the Myanmar Federal Democratic Mission Coalition (MFDMC) announced:
“For the end of the military dictatorship and the establishment of a new true federal union, 150,000 Thai baht was donated to the headquarters of the 6th Brigade Column of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) from the monthly contributions of the members of the Myanmar Federal Democratic Mission Coalition (MFDMC).”
The MFDMC also said that the donated funds has been delivered directly to the destination quickly and accurately according to the MFDMC’s policy under the guidance of the Ministry of Defence.
7. Military troops are on the rampage in villages in Magway Division’s Myaing Township and Sagaing Division’s Kanbalu Township this morning
According to local news sources, military troops opened fire on the villages in Myaing Township in Magway Division and Kanbalu Township in Sagaing Division on the morning of January 26.
“Yesterday, the forces at the Pyu Saw Htee camp in Thayet Kwa village in Myaing Township were increased, and last night and this morning, they have been firing heavy weapons towards Kan Yar Kaung village,” locals said.
The revolutionary forces urged the civilians in the southern part of Myaing Township to live carefully as those military troops seemed to be marching.
In the same way, 52 military troops and members of Pyu Saw Htee marched into Shaw Phyu Kone, Zee Kanar, and Hnaw Kone villages and entered Chat Kone village at about 8:30 a.m. while shooting at the village.

The MEF-Canada said that the ticket sales of the movie “Rays of Hope” will be donated to places in urgent need of the spring revolution through Director Ko Pauk.
“We are accepting pre-orders for Rays of Hope movie tickets, so let us invite everyone to participate in the revolution by watching this movie. 100% of the movie ticket sales will be donated to places in urgent need of the spring revolution through Director Ko Pauk. So, even if you can’t come and watch it in person, we encourage all Myanmar citizens outside of Toronto and the GTA to buy a ticket for CA$25 and donate it,” the MEF-Canada stated.
The MEF-Canada also said that the success of the revolution is not far away and that a ray of hope is coming, so everyone should push as hard as they can for the final battle.
9. Myanmar Diaries will screen in California on February 11

Myanmar Diaries is built up of short films by ten young anonymous Burmese filmmakers, combined with emotionally harrowing citizens journalism documenting the junta’s brutality, as well as courageous resistance to it. This spring revolution documentary won many awards, including Berlinale Documentary Awards, which is one of the world’s biggest film awards.
