1. Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khaing Thann says that he firmly believes that the new federal union that everyone is yearning for will definitely be achieved
At a meeting of the Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) held in January, Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khaing Thann said that he firmly believes that the new federal union that everyone is yearning for will definitely be able to be achieved.
The Union Prime Minister told the meeting:
“We have resisted the military dictatorship for many years, but I believe that this spring revolution will remove the military dictatorship and the doubts, mistrust, and disagreements between the ethnic siblings once and for all, and we firmly believe that we will definitely be able to move towards the new federal union that everyone is yearning for. We have given our time and paid with our lives and sweat on various fronts such as politics, military affairs, and diplomacy, and at this time, significant victories are being achieved.”
The terrorist military council is currently losing ground militarily, and therefore is using extensive air strikes to attack.
2. NUG’s Planning and Finance Minister U Tin Tun Naing clarifies that over a hundred million US dollars raised are efficiently used in the people’s defence revolution, as well as education sector, health care sector, and humanitarian assistance
U Tin Tun Naing, Union Minister of Planning, Finance and Investment, said the following at a press conference in January:
“We have received over a hundred million US dollars in funds contributed by the people for the revolution. This one hundred million is also being used in different sectors which are necessary and most important for the revolution. In addition to the fund for the People’s Defensive War, the raised funds are also allocated to the education sector, which the NUG’s Ministry of Education is implementing, the health care sector, and humanitarian aid.”
The National Unity Government is operating a revolutionary fund by selling Special Treasury Bonds, and EOD shares.
3. Karenni allied forces captured an outpost of the military junta on Mae Sam Laep hill and seized weapons, grenades, and ammunition
On January 21, the Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF) claimed that an outpost of the military junta, which was firmly entrenched on Mae Sam Laep hill located near Nan Hpe Village in Bawlakhe Township, Karenni State, was captured and weapons and ammunition were seized, as follows:
“The allied forces of the Karenni Commando, the Karenni Army (KA), the 15th Battalion of the Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF B15), the 16th Battalion of the Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF B16), the 9th Battalion of the Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF B09), Loikaw PDF, and the DMO PDF joined forces to attack the outpost of the terrorist military council on the Mae Sam Laep hill located near Nan Hpe Village in Bawlakhe Township, Karenni State, on January 20 at 7:50 a.m. After exchanging fire until 9:30 a.m., the Karenni allied forces were able to capture the Mae Sam Laep hill outpost and found five members of the terrorist military council dead inside the outpost, the rest of whom fled the outpost. During the battle to capture the outpost, the military conducted air strikes three times with a fighter jet, and its forces based in Bawlakhe also fired heavy weapons to help them, but the Karenni allied forces were able to burn down the outpost.”
Among the captured items were two 60mm artillery shells, an RPG rocket, an MA1 rifle, an MA2 rifle, an MA3 rifle, an MA4 79 rifle, a 9mm rifle, an MA15 (Myanmar-produced) machine gun, a sniper rifle, a number of ENERGA rifle grenades, a number of landmines, hand grenades, gun cartridges, bullets, and other military supplies.
A comrade of the Karenni Army (KA) lost his life during the battle to capture the outpost.
4. The first conference of the Karenni State Consultative Council (KSCC) committed to fight to eradicate the military dictatorships and all forms of dictatorship, by all means
On January 21, the first conference of the Karenni State Consultative Council (KSCC) released a statement.

The Gangaw Township People’s Administration released a warning statement on January 21 about the activities of the lackeys of the terrorist military council in Gangaw Township to hold the illegal election in 2023, as follows:
“It is known that the military council lackeys’ administration bodies are trying to collect the census and voter list in order to hold the illegal election in 2023. The Gangaw Township People’s Administration will not accept the activities in Gangaw Township that support the military council’s illegal election, and the people of Gangaw Township are requested not to participate in the election process, including in the collection of census data and voter lists, and to report if there are activities taken by the military council lackeys’ administrative bodies and staff that support the illegal election.”
6. The CDF-Tonzang announces that it is already preparing for the city capture battles
On January 21, pa Thang Suan Mung, the spokesperson of the CDF-Tonzang, said:
“Soon, the entire country will be fighting to capture cities. The CDF-Tonzang is also already preparing for the city capture battles. The new Chinland government will no longer allow areas in Tonzang Township that are not involved in the city-capture battles to self-administer. The CDF-Tonzang joined forces with the allied PDF forces to attack the military council forces three times, and the members of the CDF-Tonzang—mines master Ka Lar Lay, comrade Thang Neu, and comrade Thang Dokap—sacrificed their lives for the Chin motherland and the country. Therefore, the CDF-Tonzang encourages the people of Tonzang and those armed organizations in the Gwete/Mal region on the west side of the Manipur River, State Constituent-2 of Tonzang Township, who want self-administration to fight Min Aung Hlaing’s military together with the CJDC, the CDF-Tonzang, and the CNF.”
7. A total of 143 people have been sentenced to death by the military council, including 42 who have been sentenced to death in absentia
The Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) announced the current situation after the military coup and the military council’s imposition of death penalties on January 20.
According to the AAPP, as of January 20, 2023, there are a total of 101 people who have been sentenced to death and are being held in prisons in connection with the Spring Revolution and there are 42 people who were sentenced to death in absentia, bringing the total number of people sentenced in absentia to 121. As a result, a total of 143 people have been sentenced to death, both in person and in absentia.
8. The sale of the Spring Valour condominium project, which contains over 700 rooms, has started
On January 21, the End of Dictatorship (EOD) announced the start of the sale of the Spring Valour condominium project, which contains over 700 rooms, as follows:
“The number of Spring Valour condominium rooms according to the types of rooms is announced as follows:
- 70 rooms for Studios
- 100 rooms for One-bedroom types
- 240 rooms for Two-bedroom types, and
- 360 rooms for Three-bedroom types.
The sale of the Spring Valour condominium rooms will begin today at 10:00 p.m. Myanmar time.”
The EOD encourages people to contribute the funds needed for the revolution. The condominium rooms can be purchased through the EOD’s authorized agents, and at present, there are over 300 pre-orders registered with the EOD agents to purchase the Spring Valour condominium rooms.
