The Ministry of Defence of the National Unity Government has released images of the one-minute silence saluting ceremony for commemoration of Lieutenant General Hkawng Lum who is Commander-in-Chief of Kachin Independence Army and Commander of No. (1) Military Region of People’s Defence Force, holding a minute’s silence.

In the Facebook Page of Ministry of Defence, it stated that Patheingyi – PaKaFa, Chanmyathazi – PaKaFa, Sagaing District – PaKaFa), Kalay District – PaKaFa (Armed Forces Company-1, Special Regiment (SR-1), Mandalay – PaKaFa, Mahaaungmyay – PaKaFa, Magway District Battalion 1, Mogok – PaKaFa, Yinmarbin District Battalion 1, and Salingyi Township PaKaFa held one-minute silence to pay their respects to commemorate Lieutenant General Hkawng Lum who is Commander-in-Chief of Kachin Independence Army and Commander of No. (1) Military Region of People’s Defence Force.

Lieutenant General Hkawng Lum who is Commander-in-Chief of Kachin Independence Army and Commander of No. (1) The Military Region of People’s Defence Force passed away from liver disease on May 13 at 6:00 p.m. and his funeral was done on May 16.

The Southern Military Region announced on May 16 that more than 400 terrorist junta soldiers were killed in the southern military region in April. It stated that allied forces of the People’s Defence Force (PDF) of the Ministry of Defence of National Unity Government, Karen National Liberation Army – KNU (KNLA), Force For Federal Democracy (FFD), and Bamar People’s Liberation Army (BPLA) were able to capture Hpapun as city capture battle in the southern military region in April.

In addition, they have successfully captured the LIB-355, LIB-356, LIB-357, and strategic hill camp in Thin Gan Nyi Naung; conducted 5 camp capture battles; had 71 clashes with the terrorist coup military council; and conducted 336 drone attacks over the enemy’s camps and columns; 11 attacks with heavy weapons, 13 sniper attacks, 15 mine attacks, and 7 clearance attacks on junta pillars, in a balanced cooperation with the allies.

In April, a total of 430 terrorist junta soldiers were killed, 241 were injured, and 57 were captured alive, including informants of the junta and the surrenders. A variety of enemy ammunition and ammunition were also seized.

From the People’s Defence Force (PDF) and allies, 32 comrades bravely sacrificed their lives for the country, and 134 were injured (non-critically).

During the fighting, 4 innocent civilians were killed and 30 were injured due to the indiscriminate firing of terrorist junta troops into the villages where the people lived, airstrikes, and arbitrary arrests and killings of people.

At present, the Southern Military Region continues to control the strategic hills, and Hpapun, which have been captured, fight the junta troops under MOC-12 of the 55th Division which marched with superior forces to retrieve control over Myawaddy-Kawkareik Asia Road and conduct many operations to deplete the enemy’s forces.

The Albino Tiger Column reported that on May 16, they attacked the convoy of the 77th Division, which came to reinforce the 55th Division, in the Aung Zeya operation.

In the attack, at least 6 military council soldiers were killed and many were injured. The Aung Zeya operation of the military council, which marched with the remaining forces, was unable to advance at the foot of Dawna Mountain, and clashes broke out with the revolutionary forces.

It was reported that the attack was carried out cooperatively by the White Dragon Column under Strategic No. 31, Albino Tiger Column, Multirotor Drone Force, Fixed Wing Drone Force, and Robinhood Rocket Force.

The Phoenix Sagaing Force reported that the military council troops stationed in Ohn Taw Village, Sagaing Division, were bombed by drones for the fourth time in May.

On May 15, 6 bombs were dropped using Fix Wing Drones on the military council troops stationed in Ohn Taw Village, and there might be casualties of the military council troops. The drone attack is the fourth time in May, and a total of 16 bombs have been dropped on the places where the military council troops were stationed.

After the attack, the military council troops fired back randomly, but the revolutionary comrades were able to retreat unharmed.

The attack was carried out jointly by Phoenix-Sagaing, Sagaing District PaKaFa Drone Team, Unicorn Guerrilla Force, Royal Falcon Guerrilla Force, Cat’s Claws (Wetlet), Sagaing District Battalion 7, and local PaKaFa forces

The KNU headquarters announced that from May 1 to May 15, there were 46 clashes between the alliance forces led by Brigade 5 of the Karen National Liberation Army (K.N.L.A) and the coup terrorist military council. In the clashes, 15 soldiers from the terrorist military council were killed, 7 were injured, and from the revolutionary forces, some comrades sacrificed their lives for the country.

With, or without the fighting, the coup terrorist military council deliberately conducted air raids with fighter jets, drone bombing attacks, and heavy weapons firing into the villages and workplaces of the civilian population almost every day, destroying 15 houses and a barn.

The KNU headquarters reported that on May 14, at 2:40 p.m., the LIB-9 of the coup military council fired 2 heavy weapons into villages of Thaton District, Doothahtu District of the KNU Kawthoolei Administrative area and those exploded in Mayangon Village in Shwe Yaung Pya Village Tract, damaging 4 houses of U Pho Din, Naw Nandar Hlaing, Daw Ma San and Daw Moe Kyi.

On that day, the terrorist military council fired heavy weapons; 4 shells from the Artillery Battalion-314 and 3 shells from LIB-3 from 9:45 a.m. to 11:50 a.m.; 4 shells from LIB-9 and 2 shells from Wiyaw camp under LIB-9 at 10:00 a.m.; 3 shelling from Bilin toll gate camp, 1 shelling from the Artillery Battalion-314 and 1 shelling from IB-8 at 1:30 p.m.

According to the KNU-Thaton Township information officer, due to the unprovoked intentional heavy weapon firing of the coup terrorist military council into civilian villages, there has been damage to houses, domestic animals, buildings, and crops for local businesses, and casualties of the civilians, as well as displaced people who have fled their homes for safety.
