4. The People’s Defense Joint Column attacked the military council column in Tanintharyi Township for two consecutive days
Myeik District People’s Defense Joint Column 1 announced that they attacked the military council column marching into Tanintharyi Township, Myeik District, Tanintharyi Division, for two consecutive days, and the military council’s side may have suffered casualties.
On the morning of May 13, Myeik District People’s Defense Joint Column 1 and the Southern Brothers Army ambushed the military council column with an estimated strength of about 70 forces near Ban Kyote Village. In the battle, there was an exchange of fire for about 40 minutes, and at least 3 members of the military council were injured. 4 comrades from the joint revolutionary forces reportedly got non-critical injuries.
In addition, it is reported that there was a second clash with the military council column on the evening of that day, but no casualties have been reported.
The next day, on May 14, around 8:00 a.m., he went on to say that the military council column that entered the oil palm forest on the west side of Banlin Village was mined.
The mine attack was carried out by Myeik District People’s Defense Joint Column 1. There might be casualties of the military council troops, and the details are still being investigated.
5. A Wanbao company copper carrying vehicles convoy with 2 Jammer-equipped cars was attacked by mines
BRAVE HEART ARMY-BHA announced that a convoy of 14 vehicles carrying copper from the Wanbao Company, accompanied by two cars equipped with a mine protection system (Jammer), were attacked by mines.
On May 13, at 8:40 a.m. and 8:45 a.m., they attacked the convoy twice with 5 cluster mines targeting 2 Jammer-equipped cars at the foremost and the last of the convoy. In the attack, 2 Jammer-equipped cars escorting the copper-carrying vehicles were hit and there might be casualties, BHA stated.
Though the military council’s scouts fired back and attacked during the mine attack, the PDF comrades were able to retreat unscathed.
The attack was cooperatively carried out by BRAVE HEART ARMY-BHA, Monywa District Battalion 10 Company 2 – Chindwin Fighter Group (CFG), and Monywa District Battalion 28 Company 1.
6. KNLA joint forces arrested 2 military council soldiers in Taungoo
It is reported that KNLA joint forces arrested 2 military council soldiers in the Thandaung road section in Taungoo Township, Taungoo District, Bago Region.
On May 13, 2 military council soldiers were captured by KNLA Brigade 2 Battalion 5 joint forces at 6-Mile on the Taungoo-Thandaung road. Along with them, one MA 11 gun, 300 rounds of 5.56 ammunition, and 2 magazines were seized.
7. 4 innocent civilians were killed and 3 were injured due to the heavy weaponry of the terrorist military council in KNU – Htaw Ta Htu Township
The KNU headquarters announced that the coup terrorist military council troops intentionally fired heavy weapons into the villages where people live and work in Htaw Ta Htu (Htantabin) Township, Taw Oo (Taungoo) District of KNU-Karen National Union Kawthoolei Administrative Area, killing 4 innocent civilians and injuring 3.
On May 13, at around 9:45 p.m., the coup terrorist military council troops from IB-73 based in Zayetgyi Village fired heavy weapons into Ywar Lay Kone Village of South Zayetgyi Village Trace in KNU – Htaw Ta Htu Township Administrative Area, killing 4 civilians; U Kyaw Sein (84 years), Ma Htay Yi (52 years), Ko Htay Naing (49 years), and Ma Ei Photo (18 years), and injuring 3 others.
8. The military council bombarded Kin Chaung Village in Maungdaw, killing 4 civilians and seriously injuring at least 7
On May 14, at around 11:00 a.m., the military council bombarded Kin Chaung Village in Maungdaw with aircraft, killing 4 civilians and seriously injuring at least 7, Western News reported.
It is said that the military council bombarded upon receiving information that there was a crowd of people near Kin Chaung Village without any fighting. The two victims from Kin Chaung Village were 30-year-old Ko Bo Kyaw and 20-year-old Ma New Ni Win. Another 2 victims were 2 vendor women from Aung Zeya Village and Shwe Baho Village who came to Kin Chaung Village. 7 other injured people are villagers of Kin Chaung Village.
As a result of the bombardment, Kin Chaung Village Monastery was destroyed and many houses were also destroyed. It is reported that the deceased are being prepared to be cremated in their respective villages.
9. 7 people were killed and 9 were seriously injured in an airstrike in Saw Township
Yaw Alinn Tan reported that on May 14, at around 3:00 p.m., a jet fighter bombarded over houses in Tawma Village, Saw Township, Magway Division. As a result of the air strike, 2 residential houses were burned down, 9 residential houses were destroyed, 7 innocent civilians were killed and 9 were seriously injured.
A resident of Tawma Village told Yaw Alinn Tan, “Around 3 p.m., a jet fighter bombarded the houses of innocent people without any fighting. 2 houses were burned to ashes. 9 houses nearby were also destroyed. So far, 7 people; 3 men, and 4 women, including a one-month-old baby, have been killed, and 9 people have been seriously injured. Among the dead, included an 8-month-old child and a 5-year-old child. Some wounded are in critical condition. There are still a lot of people with minor injuries.”
This is the second time an air attack has been carried out in Saw Township within a week. On May 9, at around 11:00 a.m., an air attack was carried out on the monastery of Akyi Pan Palun Village in Saw Township, killing 16 people and injuring 25 others.
