Myanmar Spring Revolution Morning Fresh News for 2023 January 8

Minister U Tin Tun Naing urged One Day Challenge members to celebrate the victory by participating and supporting the revolution from the beginning to the end.

On January 7, NUG Foreign Affairs Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung and Union Minister U Tin Tun Naing of the Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment attended the meeting of One Day Challenge members held in Bupyeong, Korea via online.

Minister U Tin Tun Naing said, “The idealism of the One Day Challenge has been recorded in history. I would like to encourage everyone to celebrate the victory by participating and supporting the revolution from the beginning to the end.”

The committee announced that USD 2.2 million has been supported directly to NUG from the One Day Challenge funding process, and approximately 330,000,000 won (329,095,406) to support PDF, CDM, and IDPs.

In addition, NUG Foreign Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung expressed her appreciation for the continuous strategic process of the One Day Challenge, adding that it is an effective support for the revolution.

The Union Minister, Naw Susanna Hla Hla Soe, presented a certificate of completion to those who successfully completed the vocational sewing training.

On January 7, the Union Minister of the Ministry of Women, Youth and Children Affairs Naw Susanna Hla Hla Soe said.

“I would like to record the successful completion of the 1/2024 Vocational Sewing Training held by the Ministry,” said the Minister.

The Ministry of Women, Youth and Children Affairs has been providing support to war refugees as well as teaching vocational skills.

Union Minister for Human Rights, U Aung Myo Min, said that there were more than 4,600 human rights violations in Myanmar in 2023.

According to the data collected by the Ministry of Human Rights regarding human rights violations in 2023, the minister said this on January 7.

“In 2023, the Ministry of Human Rights collected the incidents of human rights violations. There may be many violations left unreached. These are numbers that include the lives and dignity of civilians,” the minister said.

The Ministry of Human Rights also released a statement saying that there were 4,656 cases of human rights violations during the year from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023, of which 657 were recorded and 322 cases were confirmed. Out of the confirmed incidents, 165 incidents were sent to IIMM and internationally, according to the statement.

It is reported that such collections were collected through strong media monitoring and online monitoring.

The Ministry of Human Rights firmly adheres to the goal of achieving equality, peace and justice for all people, and is doing its best to punish the crimes committed by the terrorist military.

The Deputy Minister of Education, Ja Htoi Pan, said that she wishes more people would participate in online education using the Internet.

On the Live Talk Show for the Federal Net on January 7, Deputy Minister of Education Ja Htoi Pan said, “In a period when schools are shut down and the quality of education is suffering due to the military council, the internet can serve as an effective tool for continuing educational activities. We want to encourage people to leverage the internet for online education. The people on the ground are showing a strong inclination towards utilizing online platforms for studying. However, the military council is intentionally sabotaging educational efforts on the ground through targeted airstrikes.” 

The Ministry of Communications, Information and Technology of the National Unity Government is working on the “Federal Net Campaign” with the aim of expanding internet installation in 5 townships.

The Federal Net Campaign” campaign period is set until January 15, 2024 and campaign requirements are still needed.

The Sagaing Federal Unit Hluttaw and the Magway Federal Unit Hluttaw had a meeting on January 7, the Sagaing Federal Unit Hluttaw informed.

It is said that the meeting between the Sagaing Federal Unit Hluttaw and the Magway Federal Unit Hluttaw was held on January 7 at 10:00 a.m. At the meeting, they mutually discussed and recommended the processes of the interim federal unit, and the meeting was successfully concluded at 12:30 p.m.

It is reported that the Ministry of Defence of the National Unity Government recognized Homalin People’s Defense Force – HPDF 124 as the Hkamti District Battalion 3 under the No. (1) Military Regional Command. On January 7, HPDF-124 announced this.

“We, HPDF-124, have participated in the Spring Revolution since the beginning of 2021, and as we all know, we are a group that carried out military activities under the instructions of the MOD during the armed revolution. At this time, we HPDF-124 have been recognized as the Hkamti District Battalion 3 of the Ministry of Defence of the National Unity Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. We HPDF-124 will continue to fight for the elimination of military dictatorship as Hkamti District Battalion 3 for the given historical duty,” it stated.

HPDF – 124 is also a People’s Defense Force that is revolutionizing the military junta.

The Karen National Union – KNU headquarters announced that the 2nd Batch of Medic Training Graduation ceremony was held at the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) headquarters.

This course was jointly organized by the Defense Service Medical Department of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Central Military Headquarters and the Back Pack Health Worker Team (BPHWT).

The graduation ceremony was attended by administrative leaders, military officers and comrades from the Karen National Union (KNU), leaders from the Karenni National Solidarity Organization – KNSO, officers and comrades from the Student Army ABSDF, and students from the New Generation Leadership Program (NGLP), and Dr. Ko Ko Naing gave the opening speech.

It was also reported that 18 male trainees and 22 female trainees who passed the medic training course were honored with certificates by the relevant officials.

At the ceremony, Associate General Secretary-2 of Karen National Union – P’doh Saw Hla Tun, Head of Karen Department of Health and Welfare of Karen National Union – P’doh Saw Diamond Khin, Karen National Liberation Army (K.N.L.A) Central Military Command Joint Commander-in-Chief Brigadier General Mahn Hpan Lont Hein, Karen National Liberation Army (K.N.L.A) Central Military Headquarters’ Defense Service Medical Department in charge Colonel Naw Soe Day Ke, Karen National Liberation Army (K.N.L.A) Brigade-7 Defense Service Medical Department in charge – Captain Saw Ae Hme, and Saw Mu La from Karenni National Solidarity Organization (KNSO) gave congratulatory speeches to the graduated trainees.

In San Francisco, California, the United States, expatriate Myanmar people staged a public demonstration against the military dictatorship. 

The Free Burma Action Committee- San Francisco stated that a public demonstration against the military dictatorship was held on January 7.

It was held in front of San Francisco’s City Hall under the slogan “Let’s Struggle to Uproot the Fascist Army in 2024.”

The public demonstration was led by the Free Burma Action Committee-Northern California, and the spring revolution forces, ethnic forces, youth generation students and supporters participated in the demonstration.
