Myanmar Spring Revolution Morning Fresh News for 2023 October 8

1. The Minister of Home Affairs and Immigration urged the public to participate in the revolution while investing in the Federal Springs project of Pyin Oo Lwin

On October 7, Minister of Home Affairs and Immigration U Lwin Ko Latt urged the public to participate in the revolution while investing in the Federal Springs project of Pyin Oo Lwin.

“Everyone is tired, but we have already decided that we cannot stop, so let’s invest and continue the revolution,” said the minister.

The Federal Springs project is a project to be developed about 300 acres of commercial and residential land after legally seizing the land belonging to the terrorist military near the Tatmadaw Technology University north of Mandalay-Lashio Road in Pyin Oo Lwin City.

The type of land ownership of the Federal Springs project plots is grant land, and after paying a fixed amount of money (40% of the sale value) during the revolution, an insurance bond will be issued as proof of initial ownership.

2. The proceeds from the sale of the Federal Springs project will be used to cover revolutionary needs

Minister for Planning, Finance and Investment U Tin Tun Naing announced on October 7 that the proceeds from the sale of the Federal Springs project will be used to meet the needs of the revolution.

“The “Federal Springs project” that started selling today will be used to cover the needs of the revolution, so I would like to especially urge people who can afford to buy and support it,” the minister said.

3. During the revolution, 1,296 bomb shelter pits were dug for refugees

According to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of the National Unity Government, 1,296 bomb shelter pits for war refugees were dug during the revolution.

The Union Minister of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of the National Unity Government, Dr. Win Myat Aye, said at the regular meeting of the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (40/2023) held via video conference on October 6.

Activities carried out during the month of September included humanitarian assistance of over 323 million kyats to 138,326 people, vulnerable groups, and 813 households, the release of an advocacy paper (1) with the title “People in Myanmar in the ashes, Help them with sympathetic act”, psychological and social protection activities, capacity-building training for humanitarian officers, and psychological counseling sessions for civil servants participating in the Civil Disobedience Movement.

At the meeting, it was reported that 1,296 bomb shelter pits were dug for evacuees in Sagaing Region, Magway Region, Bago Region, Mandalay Region, and Tanintharyi Region, as well as the additional requirements and the next steps.

The meeting was attended by the chairman and members of the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, the chairmen and secretaries of the affairs committees, the Union Minister and officials of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management.

4. The Deputy Minister of Education attended the meeting between the NUG MOE and the Interim Basic Education Teacher Professional Development Committee (Yangon) 

On October 6, a meeting between the Ministry of Education of the National Unity Government and the Interim Basic Education Teacher Professional Development Committee (Yangon) was held. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Education, Ja Htoi Pan, officials of basic education, and members of the Yangon Township Boards of Education.

The Interim Basic Education Teacher Professional Development Committee (Yangon) explained the committee’s TOR, roadmap, work arrangements, and efforts to implement teacher training courses, and the Deputy Minister and the officials of the Ministry of Education made a review, discussion, and suggestions.

Interim Basic Education Teacher Professional Development Committee (Yangon) met with Dr. Thein Lwin and education experts on August 25, teachers from Spring Normal University (SNU) and Educational Degree Colleges on August 27, the CPD Team (Basic Education) on August 31, and Teacher Thein Naing (Maukkha Education) on September 2, and received suggestions and recommendations from them.

5. Mon State Federal Council Chairperson Nai Suwunna said that unity among each other is the most important issue

In the closing speech of the 31st MSFC (Mon State Federal Council) regular meeting, Nai Suwunna, chairperson of the Mon State Federal Council, said, “Unity among each other is the most important issue.”

“We will have to be patient in political work, and we will have to include ourselves in the federal union that will be formed, and unity among ourselves is the most important issue,” the minister said.

Currently, there are various ethnic armed resistance forces in Mon State, and some of them have recently reached an agreement with the military council.

6. In Kanbalu Township, more than 10,000 people have been forced to flee the war due to the two-week-long junta’s column incursion

On October 7, Kyun Hla Kanbalu Activists Group – Kanbalu District informed that more than 10,000 people have been forced to flee the war due to the two-week-long raids by the junta column in Kanbalu Township.

“Over 10,000 people from 10 villages have been forced to flee the war due to the junta column and Pyu Saw Htee’s 120-strong military raid for about two weeks in Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Division, and three people, including an underage child, have been arrested,” it stated.

It is reported that LIB-361 and Pyu Saw Htee members under the terrorist military junta, were on a patrol from September 25 to October 7.

The junta column that had left the Zeekone sugar factory camp on the morning of September 25 was deployed inside the Ngat Pyaw Taing Ywar Thit power station on the Shwebo-Myitkyina strategic road. On September 27 and 28, they were stationed in Thiri Mon Village, and then on September 29, they were stationed again at the power station in the village of Ngat Pyaw Taing. On October 2, the junta column was reinforced by about 80 forces from Yamana Pyu Village and about 200 soldiers looted the public properties in the village.

7. Gyobin Seik military council outpost in Taungoo Township in western Bago Yoma was attacked, killing 10 terrorist junta soldiers and injuring several others 

On October 7, Bago Sub-Military Region confirmed that the Gyobin Seik military council outpost in Taungoo Township in western Bago Yoma was attacked, killing 10 terrorist junta soldiers and injuring several others.

“At around 5:30 a.m. on October 7, the outpost of the terrorist military council in Gyobin Seik Village, Sabar Kywe Village Group, Taungoo Township, in western Bago Yoma, was attacked by the joint forces of Company 1 and 5 of Taungoo District Battalion 3501 of the People’s Defense Force (PDF),” it stated.

In that attack, the battle lasted for about 3 hours, and the revolutionary forces had to retreat without being able to capture the camp due to the arrival of reinforcements from the terrorist military council side during the battle.

In the attack on the outpost, 10 terrorist military council soldiers were killed and many injured. 1 revolutionary comrade from the People’s Defense Forces was injured (non-critical).

8. Junta soldiers stationed at the office of the general administration of Yesagyo Town, Magway Region, were attacked and injured

It was reported that junta soldiers stationed at the office of the general administration of Yesagyo Town in Magway Region were attacked and injured.

The Myingyan Black Tiger (MBT) confirmed that they attacked about 30 meters away from the enemy bunker at around 12:30 p.m. on October 7.

“At about 12:30 in the afternoon on October 7, we attacked the junta soldiers stationed in the town of Yesagyo, Magway Region, using guerilla tactics from about 30 meters away from the enemy’s bunker,” it stated.

It is reported that one of the 40 mm exploded precisely near the enemy outpost and the fighting lasted for about 5 minutes, and the junta soldiers may have been injured.

9. DANU Drone Force informed that they are producing enough grenades to be able to use them

It is reported that Danu Drone Force is producing grenades in order to use enough of them.

On October 6, DANU Drone Force stated:

“Our DANU Drone Force is currently at the front line to conduct drone missions. Our drone force is the drone team of Battalion 1003, Danu-based People’s Defence Force – DANU PDF. Currently, the Battalion 1003 Mine Production Team is producing enough grenades to be able to use enough of them at the front line.” 

The DANU Drone Force is fighting against the terrorist military council troops, and the public is also being informed to provide support.
