In commemoration of Kachin Martyrs’ Day, the Acting President Duwa Lashi La of the National Unity Government said this in his memorial letter.
“Now is the time for us all to come together in unity for the complete eradication of the military dictatorship and the establishment of a democratic federal union for national equality, justice, freedom and self-determination. The National Unity Government is a government committed to building a true federal union that fully guarantees national equality, self-determination and democracy, which all ethnic groups, including the Kachin people, want,” the Acting President said.
On September 7, 2021, the National Unity Government declared the People’s Defensive War. Currently, the NUG is increasing its military momentum, and it has been announced that 2023 will be the decisive year for its victory.
2. The Union Prime Minister said that the unity between the organizations should not be weakened and to be clear about the common enemy
The Union Prime Minister said this at the meeting of the Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) held on August 10.
“The revolution that started with a Tuu Mee has now gained strength to a certain extent and we have been able to pressurize the military council from all sides and fronts. In the dead bodies, evidence of torturing, decapitation, incision of the chest, or cutting of bodies into pieces (mutilation) was seen.”
As an example of serious international crimes that happened during this period, the incident in Pazigyi village, where more than 150 people were killed by airstrikes and aerial bombardment, was clearly described.
As part of the investigation mechanism, they have collected 200 witness statements and screening notes, as well as over 200 investigation notes, and over 135 packages with supporting information and analysis available for sharing with relevant authorities as valid cases for prosecution, of which 27 packages (comprising over 5,000 information items) have already been shared with requesting authorities.

5. OASIS Federal Educational Center accepts enrollment up to Grade-4 free of charge for school age children from disadvantaged areas
The founder of the OASIS Federal Educational Center, U Thura, confirmed that the OASIS Federal Educational Center is now accepting enrollment for school-aged children from areas where it is difficult to go to school up to Grade-4 without any enrollment fee.
“It will be taught for free for interim education. We do not charge enrollment fees. We do not charge schools monthly fees. We intended it mainly for those who are fleeing the war in rural areas. It is an educational program, and we will operate as an independent educational charity,” he said.
OASIS FEC will accept students from KG to Grade-4 for Academic Year-2023 (Batch-1), and online teaching will be taught for five months a year.
“We will teach English and Japanese as languages for the children on Saturday and Sunday. If the children take the GED admission in the meantime, we will also help,” U Thura, the founder of OASIS Federal Educational Center, added.

Due to the landslide, 26 houses, 2 monasteries, and 1 nunnery were destroyed, roads in 6 villages were destroyed, and 2 bridges connecting Panghkar Village and Panglaw Village were also destroyed.
As a result of the landslide, apart from the houses, rice, motorbikes, and household appliances were destroyed. 14 villages lost nearly 80 million kyats worth of current value due to heavy rains and landslides.
