Myanmar Spring Revolution Morning Fresh News for 2023 April 8

1. Acting President Duwa Lashi La said that it is the time to end the cycle of the fascist military for the next generation

Acting President Duwa Lashi La said at the cabinet meeting held in April:

“This is the time when we can say the terrorist military is at its weakest. The reason I say this is because they have opposed the coup in various ways with collective power that has never been encountered before. The most prominent of which is the emergence of the people’s revolutionary forces with strength and power, and on the other hand, CDMers from various departments oppose the military dictator. Let’s all try to end the cycle of the fascist military for our next generation.”

On February 1, 2021, after the military seized power, the Spring Revolution has emerged along with the public movement against the military dictatorship.

2. The National Unity Government announced that three members of the Resistance Forces from Myanmar were arrested by Thai authorities and handed over to the terrorist Myanmar military group, in violation of international police procedures

On the evening of April 7, the National Unity Government announced that three members of the Resistance Forces from Myanmar were arrested by Thai authorities and handed over to the terrorist Myanmar military group, in violation of international police procedures. It stated:

“On March 31, 2023, three members of the Resistance Forces from Myanmar were arrested by Thai authorities and handed over to the terrorist Myanmar military group, in violation of international police procedures.

This action threatens the life and safety of Myanmar citizens who have been displaced and sought refuge in Thailand due to various reasons, including the oppressive and atrocious acts of the terrorist Military Council. The National Unity Government, as the people’s government and with its inherent responsibility to protect the citizens, is paying very close attention to these incidents and similar incidents, and is continuously communicating and coordinating with the relevant organizations to reach a solution.”

3. A meeting held between the NUG’s Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) and people’s administrative bodies of Sagaing and Magway Divisions

On April 7, the meeting between the NUG’s Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) and people’s administrative bodies of Sagaing and Magway Divisions (14/2023) was held.

At the meeting, Union Minister U Nai Tun Pe @ U Na Suwunna, Ministry of Labour and member of ILACC, gave an opening speech.

Following, the people’s administrative body in Kawlin District explained their activities, and the ministries responded accordingly. Then, members of the township people’s administrative bodies exchanged views with relevant officials regarding policies, directions, operations, and challenges encountered on the ground.

The meeting was attended by Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Associate Secretaries, relevant officials from ministries, team leaders, and members of people’s administrative bodies of Sagaing and Magway Divisions.

4. The Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration held a motivational meeting with CDMers 

It is reported that the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration and the Psychosocial Support Taskforce (PSSTF) met with CDMers and held a motivational meeting ceremony (3/2023) on April 6.

After that, the Psychosocial Support Taskforce (PSSTF) had motivational discussions, read poems, and sang songs together. The CDMers in attendance asked what they wanted to know and were responded to by relevant personnel from the Psychosocial Support Taskforce (PSSTF). Then, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration gave a closing speech.

The ceremony was attended by the Permanent Secretary and relevant officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration, CDMers, and relevant personnel from the Psychosocial Support Taskforce (PSSTF).

5. PRF-People’s Revolution Supply Family Program has received and used USD 9.42 million within 15 months since its inception

On April 7, financial figures related to PRF program were released:

“From December 21, 2021, to February 23, 2023, when the PRF-People’s Revolution Support Family Program started, US$9.42 million has been received and used during the 15-month period. 7.8 million U.S dollars were used to support the battalions of People’s Defense Forces under the NUG’s Ministry of Defence. With the support of the PRF program, US$1.6 million was sent directly to the People’s Defense Forces (PaKaHpa), the Local Defense Forces (LDF) and the military weapons manufacturing industries.”

PRF: The People’s Revolutionary Support Family Program was able to provide up to 74.86 percent to the battalions of people’s defense forces (PDF).

6. The End of Dictatorship (EOD) announced Spring Yangon’s Phase lll project 

On April 7, the End of Dictatorship (EOD) announced that it will introduce Spring Yangon’s Phase lll new project (New Prestigious Condo Development) soon.

“You can breathe in the fresh air of Inya as much as you can and look at a panoramic view of Shwedagon Hill (Singuttara Hill where Shwedagon Pagoda is located). It is an opportunity that will never come back again and is the best investment for the future of your children. A great collective strength for the Spring Revolution will be coming soon,” it stated.

Currently, during the sales period of Spring Bliss project, the total sales revenue of about 19.3 million dollars and nearly 7,000 room units have been sold.

7. KRU’s one-year anniversary celebration was held

The Karenni Revolution Union (KRU) confirmed that its anniversary celebration was held on April 7.

“It has been one year, on April 7, since the Karenni Revolutionary Army (KRU) was formed. The purpose of the coalition’s formation is to unite the different forces of the revolution, carry out military operations under one command, and strengthen the armed forces and manpower,” it stated.

Due to the escalation of military operations in the state (Karenni), the one-year ceremony was held briefly, and military activities will be carried out with more effort than before.

In addition, it was announced that the formation of KRU will changed from a union structure to a battalion structure.

8. In March, the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) No. 1 Battalion and the terrorist military council clashed at least 9 times in Karenni State, and at least 6 junta soldiers were killed

On April 7, the No. 1 Battalion released the battle report for the month of March.

“During the month of March in Karenni State, our Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) No. 1 Battalion, No. 3 Battalion, No. 5 Battalion, No. 6 Battalion, No. 7 Battalion, No. 9 Battalion, No. 10 Battalion, Karenni Army (KA), and other allied people’s defense forces have engaged in at least 9 battles with the forces of the terrorist military council.

As Battalion-01, they were able to invade military bases stationed in the active area, and conduct ambushes, firing with heavy weapons and sniper units. Mine troops and medics also participated in every battle, and we were able to send reinforcements in the battle of Pekhon, the battle of Dawtamagyi, and the battle on the east side of Demoso.

In addition, at least 6 members of the terrorist military council were killed and many others injured as a result of the firing by Battalion-01.

9. Junta troops and Pyu Saw Htee that came out for patrolling hit a mine in south of a Pyu’s camp in Thayetkan, Myaing Township, killing one and injuring another

On April 7, the Myaing People’s Defense Force informed that junta troops and Pyu Saw Htee that came out for patrolling hit a mine in south of Thayetkan Pyu’s camp, Myaing Township, killing one and injuring another.

“At around 9:00 a.m. on April 7th, the Myaing Township People’s Defense squadrons, such as TYK guerrilla force, Mone Tine PDF, and People Power Defence Force attacked with mines the junta troops and Pyu Saw Htee that came out for patrolling in the south side of Thayetkan Pyu Camp,” he said.

It was reported that a junta corporal was killed and a member of Pyu Saw Htee was seriously injured after being hit by a mine.

10. 114 houses in Hnawgan Village, Pale Township were burned down by the junta troops

On April 7, Pale PaKaHpa confirmed the list of damages that 114 houses were burned and destroyed by junta troops in Hnawgan Village, Pale Township, Sagaing Division.

“From April 1 to April 7, 114 residential houses in Hnawgan Village were burned due to a junta column raid, and an elderly woman who could not escape lost her life in the fire,” it stated.

As a result of the fire, 576 people were left homeless, 52 meter boxes were lost, and 3 light poles were damaged.

In addition, 5 huts in Chaungnar Village were burned, and a 40-year-old woman, a 20-year-old man, and an 8-year-old child were hit by bullets.
