Spring Revolution Local News – Mar 28 (Evening)

Summary of News

1. Acting President Duwa Lashi La says that fascist terrorist military leader Min Aung Hlaing is now afraid of the ability of the National Unity Government and the people’s defence forces to dominate the territories

At the Cabinet Meeting (12/2023) of the National Unity Government held online on March 28, Acting President Duwa Lashi La said the following in his remarks:

“In addition to no longer being able to control his associate armed group well, the fascist terrorist leader Min Aung, in reality, is afraid of the ability of our National Unity Government and the people’s defence forces to dominate the territories. It is clear that the words he said about rooting out the revolutionary forces on the day that they had disguised Anti-Fascist Resistance Day express the fear of the entire military group.”

In addition, the Acting President went on to say that the National Unity Government must make efforts to weaken the businesses supporting the military council.

Acting President Duwa Lashi La said, in an interview in March, “Preventing the election from happening is already part of our plan this year. Min Aung Hlaing already has the irrational thought that he will become president only if the election can be held. His coup attempt failed because he was opposed everywhere, so, in order to gain international recognition, he finds a way out with a sham election that is completely impossible. We must prevent this from happening. We are making efforts to make people aware of it and ensure they do not receive international recognition.”

2. NUG’s Union Prime Minister says that Myanmar’s Spring Revolution is the fastest-developing revolution in the history of world revolutions

At the Meeting (12/2023) of the Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) held on March 23, Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khaing remarked:

“Our revolution can be said to be the fastest-developing one in the history of world revolutions. Despite this fast development, I believe that only systematic organisation and strong leadership can bring the revolution to an end.”

The Spring Revolution erupted alongside a public movement against the military dictatorship after the military attempted to seize power on February 1, 2021.

3. KNLA/KNU captures the junta’s Mae Kha Hta camp near the Thai-Myanmar border

According to reports, the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA-armed wing of the Karen National Union (KNU)) captured the Mae Kha Hta camp of the terrorist military located near the Thai-Myanmar border on the early morning of March 28.

The No. 19 Infantry Battalion (IB-19) of the military council, with about 70 troops, was said to be stationed at Mae Kha Hha Camp, which is the largest of the military camps along the banks of the Than Lwin River.

There have been news releases of photographs of the Mae Kha Hta camp of the terrorist military council on fire, but the detailed military report has not yet been confirmed.

The locals are currently reportedly being displaced, and the camp-capture battle was known to have taken place in the territory of the KNU Brigade 5.

Pale Jokers PDF released the following military news on March 28:

“In honour of Anti-Fascist Resistance Day on March 27, at about 6:13 p.m., Pale Jokers PDF attacked the fascist military troops and members of Pyu Saw Htee stationed in Zee Phyu Kone village, Pale Township, with 6 long-range rockets. After the second rocket attack from us, the military counter-fired with large and small weapons, but we were able to fire as planned and were able to withdraw unharmed.”

The military casualties have yet to be confirmed, according to the Pale Jokers PDF.

5. Thaton PDF and its allies launched an attack on the junta’s security military checkpoint in Mayan Chaung village, Kyaikhto Township, claiming three junta policemen were killed

Thaton PDF (TPDF) released the following military news on March 28:

“On March 27, at around 12:45 p.m., the combined column of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), the People’s Defence Force (PDF), and the Thaton PDF (TPDF) dropped bombs by drone at the Mayan Chaung Parment Military Checkpoint located in Mayan Chaung village, Kyeikhto Township, exploding a total of 6 bombs: one at the checkpoint gate-3, one at the dormitory of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force, and four near checkpoint gate-1.”

“The explosions resulted in the killing of three policemen on duty at the gate and injuring two others,” TPDF continued.

On March 27, at about 5:00 p.m., the KNLA-PDF-TPDF combined force also launched a drone attack on the military council forces stationed in Let Pan Pin cemetery in Kyeikhto Township, leaving five members of the military council troops injured, according to the TPDF.

6. Successful production of Boung Khu grenades by DMO-Local PDF for use in drone operations

On March 27, the Demoso People’s Defence Force (DMO-Local PDF) reported the successful production of grenades for use in drone operations as follows:

“Let us introduce the grenades that have been successfully tested and produced by our DMO-Local PDF. All kinds of weapons were useful in the battle, and among them, drone operations play a vital role in order to reduce the damage to ourselves. When we talk about drone operations, the main things we need are drones and grenades. The production of grenades will be done by our drone squad, but we need everyone’s help to purchase the necessary materials to produce them.”

Donations for the production of grenades called Boung Khu can be made directly on the Facebook page of the drone squad of the DMO-PDF.

7. The revolutionary fundraising project “The Fence,” which seeks to raise 1 billion MMK within 21 days, has so far received the majority of its funding from within Myanmar

The Fence Project announced the following on March 28:

“Until now, Myanmar (MMK, DMMK) has been at the top of The Fence Project. Myanmar supporting families abroad is not bad either; they are contributing according to each country [they are residing in]. While running this project, many people have contributed through NUGPay, which is part of the eradication of the ‘three-military’ (military dictatorship, military group of privileged, and military bureaucracy mechanism). Therefore, in The Fence Project, we will uproot not only the economy of the military group, which is one of the ‘three-military,’ but also the military bureaucracy mechanism and the military dictatorship.”

The Fence Project is a project aimed at raising “1 billion Myanmar Kyats to replenish weapons and ammunition within 21 days” for the Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF) Strategy-4. The proceeds of “The Fence Project,” which will run from March 20 to April 9, 2023, will reportedly be given directly to KNDF Strategy-4.
