Meeting with the NUG Interim Local Administration Central Committee and the Extended Public Administration Bodies

It is reported that the National Unity Government, Interim Local Administration Central Committee, held a meeting with the Extended Public Administration Bodies. The National Unity Government, Interim Local Administration Central Committee, and the Extended Public Administration Organizations held a meeting (14/2022) on November 4.

Dr. Win Myat Aye, Union Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, a member of the Interim Local Administration Central Committee, gave opening remarks at the meeting. “As this meeting is a regular meeting and the needs will be met, also the discussions could be beneficial. The one-year strategy is being implemented and the activities will be more effective as plans are set. In addition, the coordination between officials and ministries is necessary for controlled areas,” he said.

The meeting was led by Dr. Win Myat Aye, Union Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, and attended by Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Joint Permanent Secretaries, and Officials from the Extended Public Administration groups.

Foreign Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung gave remarks at the “Global Town Hall 2022”, attended by international leaders.  It was said at the Global Town Hall 2022 on November 5 held under the theme of “Sustaining Peace and Development in a Divided World”. Foreign Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung, as well as State Leaders from other countries and celebrities from various fields also attended the event. It is known that more than 5,000 people registered to attend the event.

The NUG Human Rights Minister discussed five points regarding the crisis in Myanmar at the ASEAN civil society conference

The Human Rights Minister of the National Unity Government discussed five points regarding the crisis in Myanmar at the ASEAN civil society conference. U Aung Myo Min, Union Minister for Human Rights, participated in the discussion at the 2nd plenary session of the ASEAN Civil Society Conference/ASEAN Public Meeting, held in Phnom Penh on November 4, Cambodia.

In the discussion, the Union Minister presented the following five points:

  1. To recognize the NUG as the legitimately elected government that truly represents the people of Myanmar, and not to grant diplomatic standards to the illegitimate military junta
  2. To start a new chapter in diplomatic relations beyond the ASEAN Five-Point Consensus; to hold a new dialogue by inviting the diverse people of Myanmar who have suffered the abuses and neglect of the military regime in this crisis 
  3. To provide prompt and appropriate humanitarian assistance in cooperation with the Republic of China, the United States of America, the Republic of Indonesia, Thailand, the Republic of India, the United Kingdom, and ethnic revolutionary forces, including NUG’s Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management
  4. To declare the election is illegal to be held by military dictators, as ASEAN, and to publicly reject it
  5. To promote the developing processes of Myanmar’s federal democratic constitution

H.E Yuyun Wahyuningrum, a representative of the Republic of Indonesia of the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR), and Jerald Joseph, a former Foreign Policy Advisory Council member of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, also participated in the discussion.

U Min Naung Khaing, Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, said a draft law has been submitted to the NUCC to provide legal protection for those who defected from the military and who joined CDM. “We are enacting legislation to provide life insurance and protection to soldiers and comrades who participated in the CDM and their families in accordance with the law. This draft law was completed and it has been submitted to the NUCC,” he said. It is reported that in the draft law, those who serve under the terrorist army are considered as deserters in accordance with the law, and those who joined the CDM will be officially considered as public servants.

Pencilo’s book, “100 Days of Darkness”, was mentioned in the Korean Broadcasting System’s (KBS) program. The book was also sold out as a best-selling book in Korea. It is mentioned as an introduction to the Korean-translated book at the documentary program about Korean youth and literary culture. The Korean-translated book, “100 Days of Darkness” was published by Morace al LLC, books publishing company for Korean students. It is reported that the book company will also introduce the activities of the National Unity Government and the enthusiasm and perseverance of the people of Myanmar in the spring revolution.

The “Ma Thouk Mi Thaw Moe Khar Yay” will be premiering in Rome and Milan,” the movie screening committee informed in November. “It is good news that the movie “Ma Thouk Mi Thaw Moe Khar Yay” will be shown in Milan and Rome, Italy. The movie “Ma Thouk Mi Thaw Moe Khar Yay”, directed by director Ko Pauk, will be screened with Italian subtitles on the evening of November 21 in Milan and in the afternoon of November 27 in Rome,” they said. On November 3, the military column stationed in Koetaungboet village, Kanbalu township, opened fire on nearby villages with heavy weapons.  According to the AAPP report, a 13-year-old boy living in Zeekanar village was killed because of the shooting, and three others were injured, including a 7-year-old child. The total number of people who died during the spring revolution was 2,413 after the coup.
