Acting President Duwa Lashi La said that the public must take an effort to expand the freedom of religion and belief as widely as possible. He said in the conversation of “Transition Period and Religious Freedom” held on October 27. “Freedom of religion and belief is a basic human right and a basic value of democracy. We will all have to work together to understand and accept the values of democracy, and expand the freedom of religion and belief as widely as possible,” he said. Currently, a group of military dictators is using religious as a weapon in order to create hatred between religions.

The Union Prime Minister said that ministries should carry out a collaboration for air defense. He said at the meeting of the Interim Local Administration Central Committee held on October 27. “We are deeply saddened that the lives and property of all people, including schools and hospitals, are being threatened by the terrorist military council’s unrestrained behavior. The Ministry of Defense is mainly concerned with air defense issues, but other ministries will also have to cooperate this,” he said. “Since this is a security issue, he and the relevant ministries have thoroughly discussed it. What he would like to say in this meeting is that he wants the relevant ministries to organize a meeting between the district commanders and the district public administration groups. Member Union Ministers of the Central Committee including U Lwin Ko Latt, Union Minister of Home Affairs and Immigration, Deputy Union Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, and officials from various departments, attended the meeting.

At that meeting, we learned that they mainly discussed the issue of Myanmar. We, as NUG, have requested to be allowed to attend the meeting. However, it is known that no one has been invited for political representation regarding the Myanmar issue.

When looking at the announcements made at this meeting, we have known that the five-point consensus on the Myanmar issue decided by the ASEAN leaders last year was discussed to be implemented in a more beneficial and time-limited manner.

 It is understood that once discussions have agreed upon in this meeting, they will be getting approval at the next month’s ASEAN Summit. We have already sent the opinion of the National Unity Government before the ASEAN Foreign Ministerial Meeting. Also, we have sent messages through some ASEAN foreign ministers who are comfortable with our National Unity Government. After observing and studying, I would like to say that we are working hard through either our friendly countries or all the groups that we can approach.

In the dialogue, Myanmar’s current situation, Germany’s position with the people of Myanmar regarding Myanma democracy and human rights struggles, and the German side stood with the European Union and targeted sanctions against the military coup, humanitarian aid conditions, to increase human resource capacity for federal democracy, and issues of greater cooperation between the allied forces were discussed.
