Six junta troops were captured alive during the battle of Thay Baw Boe
On the morning of May 18, Cobra Column and allied forces attacked a terrorist military council’s camp near Thay Baw Boe village next to Myawaddy-Wale Road in Myawaddy District, Karen State, and successfully seized it in the afternoon.
The Cobra Column said that the military junta used two Yak-130 pilot training jets, two K-8 bomber jets and one MiG-29 multi-role fighter, for a total of 35 air strikes.
It added that six junta troops were capture alive and the number of casualties among terrorist military council was still being verified, and three revolutionary comrades were killed and four were wounded.

The MG6 Guerrillas Force said “Since May 9, three military troops were killed when they were advancing on the Mediterranean in Yezakyo township, Magway Division, and weapons and ammunition were also seized.”
It is added that, during the four-day battle, the people’s defense force seized a G3 pistol, 94 pistols, a police uniform, an equipment, seven 94-ammunition boxes, 52 rounds of 9mm-ammunition, 23 rounds of G3 ammunition, a grenade and other accessories.

Dr Hla Kyaw Zaw, a Burmese political analyst, said that while the military council and the NUG were in competition, although NUG had won the favor of the United States and ASEAN, military council will not take care of this situation.
U Ye Tun (Hsipaw) Burma political analyst assesses that the military council may release NLD leaders, including the State Counselor to find a way out.
