Myanmar Spring Revolution Morning Fresh News for 2024 February 6 (Morning)

The Union Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe said on February 5 that the bombing and killing of children who are studying will not be condoned.

“Killing children who are studying cannot be forgiven at all,” said the Union Minister.

On February 5, at around 10:00 a.m., a school in Daw Si Ei Village, west of Demoso Township in Karenni State, was bombed by 2 military council jet fighters. In the incident, 4 students died and more than 10 were seriously injured.

On February 5, the meeting between the NUG’s Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) and the township people’s administrative bodies of Sagaing Division ns (11/2024) was held. At the meeting, Union Minister for Labour U Nai Tun Pe @ U Nai Suwunna, a member of ILACC, gave an opening speech.

Following, officials from ministries explained the activities of relevant ministries, and then members of the township people’s administrative bodies exchanged views with relevant officials regarding policies, directions, activities, and challenges encountered on the ground. Then, Union Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, Ministry of Health (MOH) and Ministry of Education (MOE), a member of the ILACC, gave a closing remark.

The meeting was attended by Union Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries, Associate Permanent Secretaries, officials from ministries, and members of the township people’s administrative bodies of Sagaing Division.

The third motivational meeting of CDM staff under the Ministry of Communications, Information and Technology of the National Unity Government was held online on February 3.

The meeting was attended by the Union Minister of the Ministry of Communications, Information and Technology, U Htin Lin Aung, the Union Minister of the Ministry of International Cooperation, Dr. Sasa, on behalf of the CDM Success Committee, officials of the Ministry of Communications, Information and Technology, and CDM heroes.

At the meeting, the Union Minister expressed his deep sympathy for the difficulties of the CDMs living in the country, thanked them for participating in the revolution until now, said that it has been a long time since it is a period of system change, and expressed his respect for participating in the revolution even today, facing a cruel dictator.

Continuing, the Union Minister of International Cooperation, Dr. Sasa, who attended on behalf of the CDM Success Committee, said that he was very happy to be invited to the CDM meeting, that he saluted everyone for doing CDM because of their faith even after 3 years, that these 3 years have been cruel years, that the courage of CDMs has been shown until the world recognizes them, that the CDM movement was the first in the Spring Revolution, that they continue to participate in revolutionary movements through this momentum, that CDM is an opportunity that hasn’t existed in ages, and that it is a proud event for future generations in the process of changing the whole future of Myanmar.

After that, the CDM employees expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to meet with the Union Ministers and discussed the conditions of attendance at the courses opened by the Ministry, health care provisions, subsidy programs, and CDM affairs.

On February 5, Deputy Minister of Education, Ja Htoi Pan, said that every perpetrator involved in the air attack, from the top commander to the pilot to the mechanic, should be given the heaviest punishment for war crimes, as well as social and moral punishment from the public.

“We have run out of words to say. We cannot let this cowardly army, which has the audacity to shoot at innocent children peacefully studying, live for a single day. There is only one course of action left—to ensure that all those responsible, from the top commanders behind the airstrikes on schools and innocent civilians, including the attack on the Daw Si Ei refugee school in Karenni, to the pilots and mechanics, face the most severe consequences for their war crimes, as well as the social and moral punishment from the public,” stated the Deputy Minister.

On February 5, at around 10:00 a.m., 2 military council jet fighters bombed a school in Daw Si Ei Village, the western part of Demoso Township, Karenni State, killing four students.

The 3 Brotherhood Alliance stated that the current period of revolution against the military dictatorship marks the peak of revolution speed and the most promising phase for revolutionary organizations.

This was said in a message sent by the 3 Brotherhood Alliance, MNTJP/MNDAA, PSLF/TNLA, and ULA/AA, on the occasion of the 63rd Kachin Revolution Day, which fell on February 5.

The message states that the time when even the Burmans are fighting against Burman chauvinism has come, and this time marks a period of the most intensified revolution and increased hope for revolutionary groups in the struggle against the oppressive fascist and terrorist military dictatorship.

It is also said that various ethnic groups have been fighting for national equality, the right to self-determination, and the right to create their own destiny against Burman chauvinism and the fascist and terrorist military dictatorship in Myanmar for decades.

The 3 Brotherhood Alliance said that Kachin, Karen, Karenni, Chin, Mon, Bamar, Rakhine, Shan, Ta’ang, Kokang, and many other ethnic groups in the country have formed revolutionary organizations representing their ethnic groups, respectively, to liberate themselves from the tyrannical and fascist military dictatorship system and are still fighting the revolution.

The Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF) has confirmed that four children were killed and at least 10 were injured in an airstrike by the military council on Daw Si Ei Village School in Myat Le Village Tract, Demoso Township.

“At around 11:45 p.m., they dropped a bomb directly on the school,” KNDF (Headquarters) News and Information Department spokesperson Saw Tha El Soe told Myanmar Now Media.

He continued that two military council aircraft had bombed the area after circling around eight times, while their ground military bases had also launched heavy artillery shells at the same location.

The children who died were between 11 and 13 years old. It is also reported that the villages bombed by the military council are not battle zones but shelters for people fleeing the war.

NUG stated at a press conference on October 4, 2023, that 491 children were killed by the military council nearly three years after the military coup.

MNDAA announced that 631 illegal weapons of various types hidden in a water spray truck were seized during the cleanup of Laukkaing. In Special Region 1 (Kokang Region), the MNDAA has strictly prohibited firearm possession and selling and issued a notice to submit firearms before February 5. Then, on the afternoon of February 3, 631 illegal weapons hidden in a sprinkler truck were seized.

During the 1027 operation, the MNDAA army captured nearly 300 military council camps and the cities of Laukkaing, Chinshwehaw, Monekoe, Kunlong, and Konkyan.

According to local sources, the Arakan Army (AA) continues to attack the military council’s Taung Pyo Let Wea camp in Maungdaw Township on the Myanmar-Bangladesh border, and dozens of military council soldiers have fled again into Bangladesh.

The Arakan Army (AA) has been attacking Taung Pyo Let Wea and Taung Pyo Let Yar camps in the north of Maungdaw Township since February 4, and the Taung Pyo Let Yar camp was captured in the evening of that day. AA continued to attack the remaining Taung Pyo Let Wea camp, and on February 5 (yesterday), more than 20 soldiers of the military council fled to Bangladesh.

In a military press release on February 4, the 3 Brotherhood Alliance has warned the military council soldiers of the Taung Pyo Let Wea camp that their lives would be spared if they surrendered.

During the capture battle of the Taung Pyo Let Yar camp, a large number of enemy bodies and ammunition were seized, and some soldiers of the AA honorably sacrificed their lives, according to the statement of the 3 Brotherhood Alliance. During the fighting that day, nearly 60 members of the military council, including the border police, fled into Bangladesh with weapons.

After the start of ‘Operation 1027’, there have been frequent cases of military council troops fleeing across the border into countries such as China, India, and Bangladesh. After more than 700 military council soldiers fled across the border into India since November 2023, the Indian authorities announced plans to build a fence along the border between the two countries.

In Rakhine state, in addition to Maungdaw, battles are also taking place in townships such as Buthidaung, Ponnagyun, Kyauktaw, Mrauk-U, Minbya, Ann, and Ramree.

On February 5, around 2:00 p.m., the revolutionary forces launched drone bombardment on the terrorist military council troops stationed in Boemingyikin Village, Myinmu Township, with 9 drones. It is reported that 2 soldiers of the terrorist military council were killed in the incident.

The attack was led by the People’s Knight Defense Force Myinmu (PKDF-MMU) and was coordinated by MMU – PDF, Sagaing District Battalion 6 Company 1 (Myinmu), Shar Htoo Waw Technical Team (Team 6) Drop for Justice, People Security Force (Ayadaw), and allies.

“On the morning of February 4, more than 20 rockets were fired at the military council Battalion 252 of Pakokku Town, Magway Division, and the West Hponekan (militia) Village,” it stated.

In the attack, large weapons exploded in the camp area, causing damage, and it was later reported that the military council soldiers hid in the trenches.

The attacks were carried out jointly by Pakokku Township’s PaKaFa Company (2) along with the Myaing-Pakokku Alliance Joint Forces.

According to the Mohnyin K-PDF battalion, when they tried to arrest 1 military council soldier and his companion who were extorting money from civilians on the city bypass road in Mohnyin, Kachin State, 1 was killed and 1 was captured alive.

“On February 4, based on information provided by the public, we apprehended 2 soldiers from the military council. Unfortunately, one of them tried to resist using a weapon and was fatally shot during the operation,” stated the Mohnyin Township People’s Defense Force.

The other one who was unarmed was captured alive, and a gun held by the military council soldier along with two phones were seized by the Mohnyin K-PDF battalion.

The Mohnyin K-PDF has also requested the people of Mohnyin to send news related to the military council to the Mohnyin K-PDF Battalion in a timely manner.

The Khin U Local People’s Defense Force reported on February 5 that more than 10,000 people from 15 villages had been forced to flee as the military council soldiers were on a rampage in villages in Ye-U Township.

“On the morning of February 5, around 100 terrorist junta troops that came out of the traditional hospital in Ye-U Township passed through Ywar Thit, Muu Thar, Nyaung Pin Chan, and Mayan Inn villages in Khin-U Township and were stationed at Thaegon Gyi Village after conducting arson at the village. Due to the raid and arson of the junta column, more than 10,000 civilians from nearby 15 villages have to flee to safety,” it stated.

Some civilians have also been arrested by the military council soldiers, and people in nearby villages and revolutionary comrades have been informed to stay alert.
