Myanmar Spring Revolution Morning Fresh News for 2024 February 3

At present, the UK is participating in Myanmar’s democracy issue and has continued to impose sanctions on the military.

On February 1, Union Minister U Aung Myo Min attended a discussion titled “The Current Situation of the Spring Revolution and Prospects After the 1027 War” in the National Assembly No. 7 Meeting Hall in South Korea.

In the discussion, the Union Minister explained the current situation of Myanmar and the characteristics of Operation 1027, achievements, and the progress of the National Unity Government and democratic forces in relation to the operation. Then, the Union Minister responded to the questions asked by the attendees.

It is reported that representatives of the Korean parliament, professors working on Myanmar affairs, students and civil organizations attended the meeting.

On February 2, the National Unity Government’s Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management issued a statement.

The National Unity Government’s Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management has announced that it has been able to provide 5.12 billion kyats of humanitarian aid to those who really need help in the revolution during the one year period from January 1, 2023 to December 31. 2023.

“The 5.12 billion kyats of money were allocated for the Ministry’s 8 priority sectors, which are local people whose houses were burned down by the terrorist army and displaced people who fled their homes, family members of those who were injured and lost their lives while participating in the revolution, vulnerable groups including the disabled in need of assistance, civil disobedience CDM civil servants, victims of natural disasters, political prisoners and family members, people affected by natural disasters, and those in need of humanitarian assistance for various reasons,” it stated.

As an important measure during the year, the ministry was able to support an average of 340,000 displaced people per month by using people-to-people donations, which benefitted a total of more than 4 million IDPs during the year. In addition, the ministry was able to rebuild temporary tents for 1,010 houses that were burned and dig 730 bomb shelter pits to protect them from air strikes and heavy weapons.

KNU Joint Secretary 2 Padoh Saw Hla Tun urged people to fight together to end the military dictatorship in Myanmar and build a new federal democratic union in the future.

On February 2, the KNU Headquarters released a video file of Padoh Saw Hla Tun, who is also a leader of the NUCC Consultative Council, delivering a speech on the 3rd anniversary of the Spring Revolution.

“As the military coup approaches 3 years, all of us along with the people are facing challenges and difficulties, but we must continue to strive to build a new federal democratic state in the future,” he said.

He also expressed his sympathy and understanding for the lives of the people who are facing difficulties.

“I sympathize and understand the lives of the people who are really facing difficult challenges during these 3 years. Because of that, we must put an end to this dictatorship and any dictatorship and build a future federal democracy where we can all live together,” Padoh Saw Hla Tun said.

As the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC) is also working towards the emergence of a new federal democratic union, he urged everyone, including the public, to fight together for the new federal democratic union after the end of the dictatorship.

On February 2, the Gangaw Township People’s Defense Force – PaKaFa confirmed that the Ministry of Defence provided more than 30 million kyats for the medical expenses of the members of the People’s Defense Forces who were seriously injured in the battles against the terrorist military council in Gangaw Township.

It has been reported that 10 million kyats for 2 seriously injured comrades from Hmwaylet PaKaFa at the rate of 5 million each, 5 million kyats for one wounded comrade from Kanthar Village PaKaFa,  5 million kyats for one wounded comrade from Hantharwaddy Village PaKaFa, 5 million kyats for one wounded comrade from Kan Village PaKaFa, 5 million kyats for one wounded comrade from Alal Ywar PaKaFa, and 1.5 million kyats for one wounded comrade from Pyar Village PaKaFa, a total of 31.5 million kyats have been provided through Gangaw Township People’s Defense Force – PaKaFa.

On February 2, the Arakan Army (AA) revealed the weapons and ammunition seized from the capture of the entire LIB-54 Battalion of the military council based in Mrauk-U, Rakhine State.

The photographs also revealed military equipment, including landmines, and various hand grenades, including pistols and revolvers that are only carried by officers, as well as heavy weapons, small arms and machine guns.

The LIB-54, based in Mrauk-U, was successfully captured by Arakan Army (AA) at midnight on January 30, the 3 Brotherhood Alliance has announced.

The Arakan Army (AA) was able to capture the LIB-380 in Minbya on January 28, and the LIB-374 in Kyauktaw on January 30, so they captured 3 military council battalions in 3 townships within 3 days.

Myaing PaKaFa announced that two military council soldiers were killed and one was seriously injured when the People’s Defense Forces launched drone attack and improvised missiles attack at areas where the military junta was stationed, including the police station and Planning and Finance Office, in Myaing Township, Magway Division.

“In opposition to the 3rd year of the military coup, we attacked all the residences of the military council troops in Myaing Township simultaneously with about 50 rockets,” it stated. In that attack, 2 military council soldiers were killed and one was injured. The attack was carried out by 20 revolutionary forces allied with Myaing PaKaFa.

Also, on January 31 and February 1, with the use of small drones, they attacked the Myaing police station with 3 bombs and Planning and Finance Office with 4 bombs.

This attack was carried out by allied forces such as Myaing PaKaFa, Thurein, and Ko Lin Mway, and it was reported that the military council soldiers were injured due to the precise bombing of the target areas.

On February 2, the military news was confirmed by the Special Guerrilla Force.

“On January 31 at 8:45 p.m., Dawei District Battalion 2 Company 1 – Dawei Defense Force (D.D.F), and Dawei District People Defense Force (DDPDF) Company 1 (Special Guerrilla Force) ambushed a military council force of about 100 soldiers patrolling on Saw Mi Nyo Road, Bommaw Ward, Dawei City,” it stated.

12 military council soldiers were killed and 14 others were wounded. The defense forces were able to withdraw successfully at around 9:30 p.m.

On February 2, CCFRT (Cobra Column Fundraising Team) announced that bulletproof vests were purchased and delivered to Cobra comrades with funds from the 500 million kyats campaign, “Cobra Operation With Community Involvement”.

“These are the fruits of the 5,00 million Myanmar Kyat Campaign, “Cobra Operation With Community Involvement”. I would like to prepare and dedicate the donations of all the parents and people with ceremonies. According to the situation of the ground battle and the security situation of the area, it was not convenient to conduct the ceremony, but we were able to quickly meet the needs of the frontline area according to the purpose of the campaign.”

It is said that they were able to install bulletproof plates, which are a basic necessity for the Cobra brothers and sisters in the frontline area, as well as something that can protect their lives, with the help of people donations.

The TNLA confirmed that 3 children were playing with an unexploded weapon in Namhsan Township, Brigade 2 military area, Ta’ang State, and the weapon exploded, killing all 3 on the spot.

At 9:00 a.m. on February 2, in Namhsan Township, Zayangyi Ward, a large weapon of the military council that remained unexploded during the battle of Namhsan Town exploded when three children were playing with it.

As a result of such an explosion, 6-year-old Mong Nay Min Aung, 10-year-old Mong Hlaing Min Aung, and 11-year-old Mong Aung Kyaw Zaw all died on the spot.

PSLF/TNLA has been clearing landmines planted by the military council troops around their battalions, in the places where they were stationed in the city, and in the yards of civilians, as well as unexploded weapons that were fired by the military council troops during the Namhsan battle. PSLF/TNLA has also instructed the public to report any mines they find.

It is known from local revolutionary forces and news sources that the military junta column that invaded Khin-U Township in Shwebo District of Sagaing Division burned about 15 houses in Tharwutti Village, resulting in the loss of tens of thousands of tins of rice.

Since January 31, the terrorist military council’s infantry column with more than 100 troops, started burning it down on the afternoon of February 1, causing 148 houses in Tharwutti Village burnt to ashes and tens of thousands of tins of rice lost, according to Khin-U Township News and Information.

It is also reported that the column was stationed overnight in Tharwutti Village on February 1 and torched the village.

It is said that the column was mainly working to deliver food to the Pyu Htaung (Pyu) Village, which was short of food, and left for Ye-U Town at around 9:00 a.m. on February 2.

Khin-U Township News and Information reported that a charred body, believed to be a terrorist junta soldier, was found inside a burnt house in Tharwutti Village when the column retreated.

Since January 31, the terrorist military council’s infantry column with more than 100 troops has killed a local man from Kalon Village, a man from Thayetkone Village, and a man from Kinpyit Village, a total of 3 civilians.
