1. NUG’s Defence Minister U Yee Mon says that liberating territories according to military regions will become one of the major objectives

Defence Minister U Yee Mon said the following at the live broadcast of the panel discussion “Myanmar Global Townhall: The People’s Revolutionary War,” which was held on February 5:

“The revolution will soon be completed in accordance with the one-year strategic plan, which will be able to cause the military council greater suffering. Among these, liberating areas according to military regions will be one of the major objectives. Important implementations have already started in this regard.”

Currently, martial law has been declared in 37 townships by the military council, and the police are being summoned back to the city from the areas where they can’t govern.

2. Union Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe says that Tanintharyi Division is a strategically important territory, and having authority over it will generate greater tax revenue

At the 3rd fundraising event (Europe) of the “Hand in Hand Together for Tanintharyi Victory” campaign held on February 5, Union Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe said the following about Tanintharyi:

“Tanintharyi is very important. We can collect taxes in Tanintharyi if it can be controlled and governed similarly to Sagaing. In another six months, hopefully Tanintharyi will become like Sagaing.”

The People’s Defence Forces can exert dominance in several areas of Tanintharyi Division, and Tanintharyi is also where the majority of marine trade is conducted.

3. Union Minister U Htin Linn Aung says that the success of the drone forces needs to be maintained

U Htin Linn Aung, Union Minister of Communication, Information and Technology, said the following during the live broadcast of the lucky draw and result sharing program of the 1st campaign of the Victory Flag of Spring (Nway-Oo-Aung-Lan) held on February 5:

“Federal Wings is a drone force that the enemy is afraid of in practically every fight. From what we’ve heard, the enemy has even held a grudge and launched an offensive against the Federal Wings Drone Force. This is also a success, and we need to maintain these successes.”

In addition, high-tech drones of different designs will be seen in battles, the Union Minister said.

In 2022, Federal Wings conducted 437 drone operations, killing 200 junta soldiers and injuring hundreds.

4. NUG’s Deputy Minister of Defence says that 2023 is the year of the victory of the Spring Revolution

U Naing Kaung Ywut, Deputy Minister of Defence, said at the 3rd fundraising event (Europe) of the “Hand in Hand Together for Tanintharyi Victory” campaign held on February 5 that 2023 is the year of the victory of the Spring Revolution.

“We must win this match. 2023 is the year of our victory. We are working hard towards this goal, and in terms of weaponry, we are upgrading drones and will also provide technical assistance; we will connect with and collaborate with revolutionary organizations; and we will rely on ourselves,” said the Deputy Minister U Naing Kaung Ywut.

After the military seized power on February 1, 2021, the Spring Revolution took place and has been going on for two years.

5. NUG publishes the Guidelines for Prevention of Air Strikes and First Aid in Schools

On February 5, the Ministry of Education of the National Unity Government announced that the Guidelines for Prevention of Air Strikes and First Aid in Schools are available on its website.

The Ministries of Education, Health, Humanitarian and Disaster Management, Defence and Home Affairs and Immigration collaborated to publish the Guidelines for Prevention of Air Strikes and First Aid in Schools.

In 2022, the junta launched an air attack on a school in Let Yet Kone Village, Depayin Township, Sagaing Division, and children were killed.

6. The “Project Sallawaddy” fundraising campaign for the Monywa PDF has raised more than 60 million MMK and calls for continued support

On February 6, the OFP Fundraisers announced about the “Project Sallawaddy” fundraising campaign, which was held to support the Monywa People’s Defence Force, as follows:

“The ‘Project Sallawaddy’ fundraising campaign for the Monywa PDF, which has fought more than 160 battles during the two years of the Spring Revolution, will be held until February 11th. To date, more than 60 million MMK have been raised, and more is still needed to increase military pace, provide food, and complete equipment. All donations will be forwarded to Monywa PDF in full.”

7. Demonstrations for Myanmar refugees were held in front of Mae Sot Prison and the Mae Sot Chief District Officer’s House in Thailand

The Maesot Myanmar Refugee Voice team held demonstrations in front of Mae Sot Prison and the Mae Sot Chief District Officer’s house on February 6.

The Maesot Myanmar Refugee Voice protested in front of the Mae Sot Chief District Officer’s House at 7:00 on the morning of February 6th to respect and recognize Myanmar refugees, and the group also protested in front of the Mae Sot Prison on the same day calling for the release of the detained Myanmar refugees and the safety of the refugees.

Recently, many Myanmar refugees in Thailand have been arrested and prosecuted under Thailand’s immigration law.

8. The “Spring Tea Corner” fundraising team in the United States raised more than 17,000 USD in revolutionary funding for February

On February 6, the “Spring Tea Corner” team reported: “The Spring Tea Corner has raised 17,660 USD from February sales and donations.”

The “Spring Tea Corner” in the United States cooks and sells food every month to raise funds for the spring revolution.
