Minister of Home Affairs and Immigration informed that many people want to participate in CDM regarding the announcement of non-CDM staffs in Sagaing

U Lwin Ko Latt, Union Minister of the Minister of Home Affairs and Immigration, said that many people want to participate in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) regarding the announcement of non-CDM staffs in Sagaing. On October 5, Union Minister said in a dialogue meeting with the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration, the township public administration organization and public security forces in the Sagaing and Magway region. “Administrative work is a very serious responsibility and it is necessary to carry out systematically for the townships. It is known that there are many people who want to participate in CDM according to the announcement about non-CDM staffs in Sagaing division. The public administration and public security organizations must work together to ensure that there is no negligence in the public service sectors,” he said. Next, the department of public administration discussed the prior processes and policy matters; and the attendees from the public administration group clarified administration activities on the ground, needs and difficulties in regard to administrative activities, and the operation conditions of the village administration mechanisms within the controlled areas. The meeting was led by Union Minister U Lwin Ko Latt and the deputy Union minister; and attended by the joint secretary, public administration department, people’s police force, fire department, officials from the immigration department and the special investigation department.

On October 5, Education Minister, Dr. Zaw Wai Soe wrote on social media that the mechanism of the military council has been completely destroyed. “Hundreds of Non CDMs in Sagaing and Magway joined the public in every township with their commitment. They are being accepted and inspected by local CDMs and public administration group. The mechanism of the military council is completely destroyed,” he said.

The terrorist army is trying hard for the territorial control in Sagaing, Magway, Karenni region, Karen and Chin state. Currently, the public defense forces can control more than 85 percent of main roads in Sagaing and Magwe region.

On October 5 at around 11:30, CDF-MINDAT confirmed that they attacked the place where the weapons of the terrorist military council are stationed near the KaLaYa 274 3-mile gate. “CDF-MINDAT closely attacked the place where the weapons of the terrorist military council are stationed near the KaLaYa 274 3-mile gate and it is known that there may be many casualties from the military council according to the report of the battalion commander,” he said. It is stated that the military council also fired about 20 rounds of heavy weapons into villages where the public lives, also a house was damaged near the road to Mintat city 6-miles university, and the rest of the damage is being investigated.

105 civilian houses were burned down during the military coup in Tanintharyi

It is reported that 105 civilian houses were burned down during the military coup in Tanintharyi. On October 5, the Southern Monitor released the aggerated information. It is described that 105 civilian houses were burned down by the military council troops and subordinate organizations from September 2021 to September 2022. By looking at by township, there are (6) in Dawei township, (1) in Long Lon township; (31) in Thare Chaung township; (8) in Rehyu township; (1) in Myeik township; (37) in Pulau township; (18) in Tanintharyi township and (3) houses in Bok Kyung township were burnt down.

By observing the arson incidents, the Southern Monitor stated that the military council troops burned nearby civilian homes when PDF attacked their convoy with mines and they also set on fire the local civilian homes after clashes between the two sides. Additionally, civilian homes were set on fire while residents were fleeing after military council columns entered.
