National Unity Government announces the Tax Voucher Forms for people who levy tax within territories governed by National Unity Government

On 22 July, Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment released the Announcement (4/2022).

According to the announcement, in developing the interim local governance, the National Unity Government revealed the Taxation and Distribution Policy on 6 February 2022.

To implement the plan, the cooperation between the Government’s Interim Local Administration Central Committee and the respective local public administration is in progress.

Nowadays, people living in territories governed by National Unity Government are willing to pay tax and are paying advance tax.

The township’s people administration bodies are collecting taxes from businesses by using standard tax forms in accordance with rules and regulations.

National Unity Government shall announce the said Tax Voucher Forms for public awareness, it stated.

National Unity Government welcomes the International Court of Justice’s (ICJ) Judgement

Union Minister U Aung Myo Min posted on social media on 23 July,

“The ICJ’s Judgement straightforwardly rejects all the objections by the military council to the jurisdiction of the Court and admissibility of the claim in the case concerning the application of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide between Gambia and Myanmar. The ICJ has decided that it has jurisdiction over Myanmar. We welcome this.”

Since the last February, the National Unity Government had already communicated to the ICJ that it accepted the Court’s jurisdiction and withdrew all preliminary objections.

NUG Human Rights Minister says that if the ICJ order is rejected by the military council and they do not face trial, a warrant may be issued and the relevant countries may jointly arrest them.

NUG Human Rights Minister U Aung Myo Min said in an interview with THN freelance journalist on 22 July,

“A non-cooperative hearing may result in a mandatory subpoena called a warrant. In mentioning the subpoena, there is no mandatory arrest from the ICJ court. However, because they did not accept the summons, when those who were accused of committing such crimes come to a country, the country that wants to cooperate can arrest them and send them to court.”

On 22 July, ICJ rejected the objections of the military council to the jurisdiction of the Court.

That is, ICJ decided it has jurisdiction over Myanmar, and the ICJ’s Judgement (all ICJ judges) straightforwardly rejects it.

At the present, the delegation led by U Ko Ko Hlaing acts as the Agent of the Myanmar military.

Minister U Htin Linn Aung says that NUG government may have requirements and shortcomings, but we all need to cooperate in the revolution 

At the Global Virtual Meeting held in July, Union Minister of Communications, Information and Technology said, “NUG government may have requirements and vacuums. But if we all work together to address these vacuum requirements with the strength of people, with the strength of revolution, then the federal democracy we need will achieve soon. We can see it now.”

At the present, the National Unity Government (NUG) is cooperating with the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC) and is meeting with ethnic representatives and revolutionary forces on a daily basis.

Minister Daw Khin Ma Ma Myo says that the country is almost in ashes because of the three “military”

At the Global Virtual Meeting held in July, Union Minister of Planning, Finance and Investment said, “Our people are in a situation where we have been affected by three “military” and are affecting. Three “military” are terrorist military, military-bureaucratic administration system and the monopoly of the business sector by the community close to the military. Because of these three “military”, the country is almost in ashes.”

Union Minister also said that the natural resources are on the verge of disappearing as the terrorist military has sold almost all natural resources.

Deputy Minister U Min Zayar Oo says that the National Unity Government has sold over 99,000 Special Treasury Bond

At the Global Virtual Meeting held in July, Deputy Minister of Planning, Finance and Investment U Min Zayar Oo said, “Until now, over 99,000 Special Treasury Bond have been sold. The next one is tax stamp, the Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment issued five types of tax stamp, which is intended to use and is being used for the contracts related to the National Unity Government.”

National Unity Government started selling Special Treasury Bond in November 2021, and so far, sold up to USD 38 million.

The military vehicles that went up along the Chindwin River came down and fired at the villages next to the Chindwin River

Revolutionary forces said that starting from the morning of 23 July, two military vessels went up through Along and Mindon, and fired at the villages of Pantainpyin and Kyaukhmaw on the banks of the Chindwin River.

It is also said that the villagers were fleeing and the military entered Kyaukhmaw village of Ying Ma Pin Township at 5 am on the morning of 23 July, stormed civilian houses, and arrested about 10 civilians.

There are over 3,000 refugees from local villages who have fled to safety from the terrorist army.

About ten people attacked the phone and motorcycle shop named Ahswetaw in Monywa town with guns and knives and took eight motorcycles and phones

An employee of Ahswetaw phone and motorcycle shop said that the incident happened on the early morning of 23 July.

He said, “Eight motorcycles were taken away, and also phones. They came in a black car, a total of 10 people, carrying a short gun each. They broke all CCTV cameras.”

Ahswetaw phone and motorcycle shop was opened at 2nd lane, Thistsar Street, Myawaddy ward, Monywa town.
