Defense Minister U Ye Mon says the National Unity Government (NUG) would be much more appreciate if it received weapons and funding from the international community

Reuters reports that National Unity Government Defense Minister U Ye Mon has called for the international help to provide arms and financial assistance.

“The stance of international community for Myanmar is moral support for us and we are grateful for it. We will be much more appreciative if we get physical support such as arms and funding,” the Minister told Reuters.

At present, more than USD 30 million has been raised through public donations, with 85% of all funds being used to purchase and produce ammunition, according to the Ministry of Defense of the National Unity Government.

Defense Minister U Ye Mon also added “With that support, we will be able to end the revolution sooner, minimizing the loss of people and their property.”

There are four drafts of the Chin Charter to form a Chin state Government and it have been suspended at the negotiation stage

On 17 May, Salai Isaac Khen told the public, “In order for the Chin state Government to emerge, we need an agreement that is acceptable to all Chin stakeholders. The ICNCC has taken the time to draft the Charter, however, for some reason, it was still in the draft stage. The talks stalled and stopped. Various attempts have been made to untie this, but so far no one was able to send in the perfect solution. Currently, there are four drafts of Chin Charter: the draft written by CNF, the draft written by Members of Parliament, the draft written by CNLD-LA and the draft written by CSO/CDM. These four drafts have to be combined to get a single draft.”

“It is necessary for the responsible persons to finalize the draft of the Chin Charter as soon as possible, and before the formation of the Chin State Government, the Public administrations/ CDF groups should form a Joint Committee for the Chin State Pubic Administration,” he said.
