1. Acting President says the National Unity Government will speed up the Revolution

The Acting President said that the NUG government will speed up the revolution as the terrorist army is waiting for a time when the public and revolutionary forces are tired. On February 22, the NUG Acting President said to the public as follows:

“The terrorist junta group is waiting for a time when the public and revolutionary forces are tired, so we must all work hard to keep the revolution moving forward.” On September 7, 2021, the National Unity Government announced the start of the People’s Resistance War. The Spring Revolution has now lasted over two years.

2. Union Minister Dr. Win Myat Aye says public service activities are being implemented in NUG-controlled areas

Union Minister Dr. Win Myat Aye said public service activities are being implemented in NUG-controlled areas. On February 22, the Minister stated at a meeting of the NUG’s Interim Local Public Administration Central Committee and township Public Administration Groups from the Magway, Mandalay, and Yangon regions.

“Public service activities are being implemented in the NUG-controlled areas, and we all need to unite and work together in the revolution. Moreover, it is necessary

to carry out the activities effectively, to discuss the needs on the ground and to pay special attention to the security and health of all the participants,” the Minister said.

After the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Electricity and Energy clarified the department’s structure, operations, policies, and statements, the township public administration members discussed what they wanted to know about the policies, guidelines, procedures, and difficulties on the ground. The meeting was attended by Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Departmental officials, and township public administration members from the Magway, Mandalay, and Yangon regions. 

3. Yangon Region Hluttaw Representatives explained the work done during the last two years to the public

On February 22, Yangon Region Hluttaw Representatives explained the work done during the last two years to the public through the online system. The ceremony had 13 agendas, and the chairperson was U Tint Lwin, a member of Parliament from Pazundaung township’s constituency No. 2, and the master of ceremonies was Daw Khaing Mar Htay, a member of Parliament from Hlaing township’s constituency No. 2.

U Aung Kyi Nyunt, chairman of the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH), delivered a congratulatory speech at the ceremony. Then, Dr. May Win Myint, the Central Executive of the National League for Democracy, read the message sent by the League. The ceremony was attended by 57 representatives from the Yangon Region Hluttaw, CRPH Chairman, National League for Democracy Central Working Committee (CWC), Yangon Regional Executive Committee, representatives from state and regional parliament representative committees, representatives from the New Society Democratic Party, and political partner organizations.

4. Daung Yar Zar Force launched a mine attack on military council troops in Kanbalu township 

The Daung Yar Zar Force launched a mine attack on military council troops stationed in Kanbalu township’s Chatthin-based camp. The attack took place at 4:30 a.m. on February 22, according to the Kyunhla – Kanbalu Activists Group (Kanbalu District).

“On February 22 at 4:30 am, the Daung Yar Zar Force launched a mine attack on military council troops stationed in Kanbalu township’s Chatthin-based camp,” it stated. It has been reported that two junta soldiers were killed in the attack.

5. Myanmar junta’s MI-35 helicopter launched airstrikes at Minywar village in Ayadaw township

In Ayadaw township, the Myanmar junta’s MI-35 helicopter launched airstrikes at Minywar village, and the ground column set the village on fire. On February 22, the ground revolutionary forces confirmed the battle news as follows:

“The military council’s MI-35 helicopter launched airstrikes on Minywar village in Ayadaw township around 5:00 p.m. on February 22. A military helicopter arrived and opened fire during a two-sided battle with the People’s Defense Forces.”

In addition, after firing from a military helicopter, junta troops burned the Minywar village to the ground.

6. Defense Forces attacked the Pyigyidagun township immigration office with remote-controlled mines

It has been reported that the Pyigyidagun township immigration office, Mandalay, was attacked by a remote-controlled mine. The Mya Nandar Operation (Mandalay) reported the military operation on February 22 as follows:

“On February 22, at approximately 11:25 a.m., the immigration office in Pyigyidagun township (G) ward, 128 street between 62 and 63 streets, was attacked with a remote-controlled mine, and defense forces were able to retreat unharmed.”

Currently, the damage situation is still being confirmed and investigated.

7. 2 people, including 1 major, were killed and 4 others injured during the clash between the Cobra column and military council troops

Two people, including one major, were killed and four others injured during the clash between the Cobra column and military council troops. On February 22, the Cobra column reported the following military news:

“On February 22, at 2:10 p.m., three vehicles from the 585th Battalion clashed with the Cobra column on the Hpalu – Waw Lay Road, which was under Cobra column control.”

The battle lasted only about 15 minutes, but it was reported that one Major and one other rank were killed and four others wounded from the enemy side.

8. Octopus Youth Organization urged to boycott of MRTV-4 actress Chue Lay and her associates’ businesses

The Octopus Youth Organization urged the public to boycott MRTV-4 actress Chue Lay and her associates’ businesses. On February 22, an official from the Octopus Youth Organization confirmed as follows:

“Actress Chue Lay was only peripherally involved in the early days of the spring revolution, and it is known that she was working with the military council supporters. Therefore, the general public is advised to avoid and oppose her not only as a social but also as an economic punishment.

The Octopus Youth Organization has called for a boycott of social and economic punishment on the properties of those associated with her, including MRTV-4 actor Chue Lay. Businesses that will be boycotted include MRTV-4, Brave Bar, Beauty In The Pot, Xiaomi Resellers, Canton Paradise, Worldwide KTV, Black Canyon, Golden Hour Entertainment, and Hotel SS.
