1. Union Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung says that the terrorist military systematically plotted to incite hatred among the populace in order to commit genocide

“More than six years ago, I noticed that topics that could lead to genocide started to emerge, so I and the women’s organisations worked to counteract hate speech. We were doing so because we noticed that the military had systematically promoted the growth of hatred. When the discrimination was severe, it led to genocide. The more society neglects, the more hatred the junta can create. Therefore, it is needed to counteract negligence and discrimination,” Union Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung said at a ceremony commemorating Rohingya Genocide Memorial Day on August 25.

In the meantime, Min Aung Hlaing, the leader of the terrorist military, uses religion to advance his political agenda. Even so, monks were among the more than 20,000 people his terrorist organisation has detained.

2. Union Minister Dr. Tu Hkawng states that every ministry of the National Unity Government is regularly inspected by international-level statisticians every six months

On August 26, Union Minister Dr. Tu Hkawng said all of the National Unity Government’s (NUG) ministries follow the financial management principles outlined by the Ministry of Finance and undergo routine inspections every six months by statisticians at the international level.

The Union Minister also emphasised that the military junta is not only targeting to win on the frontlines but also using strategies to attack in various ways to undermine the people’s faith in the revolutionary forces in an effort to reduce public financial support for the revolution and make the revolution unsustainable.

3. Human Rights Minister says that new effective international measures against the importation of jet fuel to the terrorist military are coming

On August 26, U Aung Myo Min, Union Minister for Human Rights of the National Unity Government, remarked upon the U.S.’s recent expansion of the target sector for sanctions against the Myanmar military:

“For the children and innocent people who lost their lives in air strikes, including the Pazigyi and A Nant Pa incidents, effective actions will be taken against the importation of jet fuel to the terrorist group.”

On the night of October 23, 2022, the terrorist military launched a series of air bombardments on a musical performance near A Nang Pa in Hpakant Township, Kachin State, killing at least 60 people and causing injuries to many others. On April 10, 2023, nine civilians, including a CDM school principal and his family members, were killed when the military conducted an air attack against Waibula (new) town in Falam Township, Chin State. Moreover, on April 11, 2023, the terrorist military launched an aerial attack on Pazigyi village in Sagaing’s Kanbalu Township, killing 168 people, the majority of whom were children and women.

In response to those violent airstrikes by the military against the people of Myanmar, on August 23, 2023, the U.S. government expanded sanctions against the Myanmar military to include the jet fuel sector of the Myanmar economy and designated two individuals and three entities involved in the procurement and distribution of jet fuel to the military.

4. Confrontations between military forces conducting an advance against Kutkai and the TNLA resulted in losses for the military

According to a statement made public by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army of the Palaung State Liberation Front (PSLF/TNLA), on August 25, between the hours of 5:00 and 6:00 p.m., fighting erupted between the TNLA forces and the military council forces advancing aggressively from Nam Hpat Kar towards Kutkai.

The fighting broke out when a convoy of 16 military council vehicles carrying troops and military equipment advancing from Nam Hpat Kar to Kutkai collided with Battalion No. 335 of the TNLA Brigade 5 that was guarding the area near Long Swe village.

According to the statement, there were no casualties on the TNLA side during the fight, but there were on the military council side, the details of which are yet unknown.

The TNLA said in its statement that a total of 18 clashes took place between the TNLA forces and the military council forces from July 23^rd to August 26^th, 2023.

5. Chindwin Basin Spring Guerrilla Platoon warns farmers about unexploded ordnance left in the fields

On August 26, the Chindwin Basin Spring Guerrilla Platoon warned farmers about unexploded ordnance left in the fields: “This is the time for the farmers to plough their fields to grow crops. Therefore, we would like to warn farmers to be careful when ploughing their fields because there have been recent clashes with the military council forces and there is a risk that unexploded RPG, 40mm, 60mm, and 120mm rounds may still be present in the fields.”

The group also requested that people inform the relevant local organisations if they discover unexploded ordnance.

6. The Kyal (The Star) Violin Instrumental (Orchestral Version) will be available for streaming on the Padaythar P2P YouTube channel

Click2Donate announced that the orchestral version of the well-known Kyal (The Star) violin instrumental will be presented to the public by Padaytharpin and the Artists’ Shelter on August 28 at 9:00 a.m.

More than 40 violinists will participate in the Kyal violin instrumental, which will be webcast on Padaytharpin’s YouTube channel, and performances that portray the spring revolution will also be included.
