1. After a Five-Month Offensive, Chin Brotherhood and Allied Forces Fully Capture Falam Town

The Chin Brotherhood (CB) announced on April 9 that the military operation to capture Falam Town — known as part of Operation CB — had been successfully completed.

Falam, the second-largest town in Chin State, was targeted beginning on November 9, 2024, with the aim of taking full control. After five months of sustained assault, on April 9, 2025, the town and its entire township area were declared free of junta (military council) presence.

To prevent the fall of Falam, the military council had deployed reinforcements from Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 268, and in December 2024, about 100 troops from LIB 89 were added. Again in March 2025, another 100 troops from LIB 391 under the 77th Division were sent. Additionally, over 1,000 airstrikes were launched during the battles, according to reports.

The offensive to capture Falam was carried out jointly by the Chin Brotherhood and various allied resistance forces, including:

  • 96 Soldiers PDF
  • Anti-Fascist Internationalist Front (AIF)
  • Burma National Revolutionary Army (BNRA)
  • Burmese Revolutionary Technical Front (BRTF)
  • Generation Z Army (GZA)
  • Giant Revolution Force (GRF)
  • Harmonious Northern Brothers (HNB)
  • Kalay Revolution Force (KRF)
  • Kalay Urban Guerrilla (Kalay UG)
  • Myingyan Black Tiger (MBT)
  • National Liberation Army (NLA)
  • Revolution Ambulance Wolf (RAW Medical Team)
  • Sagaing Federal Troop (SFT)
  • Yaw Defense Force (YDF)
  • Zo Army (ZA)
  • Kalay District People’s Defense Force
  • Drone support teams

The successful liberation of the Falam area was attributed to the unyielding spirit and perseverance of the allied forces, strategic military support and weaponry from the Arakan Army, and the unwavering material and moral support from the local population.

The CB also honored and paid tribute to the fallen martyrs, injured comrades, and the courage and determination of the commanders and fighters who relentlessly pushed forward until victory was achieved.

2. KIA and TNLA Begin Negotiations and Call for Constructive Input

Negotiations between the Kachin Independence Organization/Army (KIO/KIA) and the Palaung State Liberation Front / Ta’ang National Liberation Army (PSLF/TNLA) are now underway through early coordination efforts, according to a social media post by KIA Deputy Commander-in-Chief Maj. Gen. Gunmaw.

He has requested understanding and support from local communities in the affected regions and also called on online users, media outlets, and other stakeholders to provide constructive and supportive input to aid in the peace process.

This follows recent tensions and clashes between KIA and TNLA forces in northern Shan State, which have sparked concerns. Negotiations are aimed at resolving those conflicts, and discussions are being initiated to de-escalate the situation.

Gunmaw previously mentioned on March 8 via social media that gathering public opinion would be an important factor in reaching a resolution on these matters.

Military council troops and pro-junta Pyu Saw Htee militia, who fled from previous losses in Singu, Mogok, and Thabeikkyin, are regrouping in these remaining strongholds.

Meanwhile, in Mobye, located at the border of southern Shan and Karenni (Kayah) State, two soldiers from KNDF Battalion 29 were also killed during combat.
