1. Assistance extended to long-term displaced residents in Pale township: Food distribution and financial aid for well digging
At a recent town hall meeting with the Myanmar community in South Korea, Daw Zin Mar Aung, Union Minister of Foreign Affairs of the National Unity Government (NUG), discussed the ministry’s activities. She stated, “Our Ministry of Foreign Affairs is mainly responsible for informing the international community about what the military council has committed and why they are illegal. Additionally, I want to emphasise that the international community does not recognise the military coup. They acknowledge that the Military Council is not a legitimate government.”
The Union Minister also highlighted that the international community recognizes and accepts the NUG as the representative of the people of Myanmar. She emphasized that the international community listened to the voices of the people, which is why they do not accept the military coup in Myanmar and continue to oppose it until today.
2. NUG Deputy Defence Minister visits Saw Dragon Drone Force’s training within Southern Regional Command and offers encouragement

On May 21, the Southern Regional Command of the People’s Defence Force (PDF) announced the recent visit by Deputy Defence Minister Naing Kaung Ywut of the National Unity Government (NUG). Deputy Minister Naing Kaung Ywut visited the Saw Dragon Drone Force, No. 3 Military Region, Southern Regional Command of the PDF, and attended the graduation ceremony for its Batch 7 training programme.
During his visit, the deputy minister addressed the current military situation, engaged in cordial discussion with the trainees, and offered them encouraging words.
3. NUG Human Rights Minister pushes for Myanmar’s agenda at upcoming International Labour Conference (ILC)
U Aung Myo Min, Union Minister of Human Rights within the National Unity Government (NUG), recently urged officials during his visit to New Zealand to discuss the Myanmar issue at the upcoming International Labour Conference (ILC), scheduled from June 3 to July 14.
He stated, “In the coming June, there will be a tripartite meeting of employers, workers, and government representatives from all countries called the ILC. I was promised that the labour unions will express and discuss Myanmar’s ongoing affairs, present ongoing human rights violations and labour rights violations in Myanmar during the conference period whenever they have opportunities, recognise the NUG as the legitimate government of Myanmar through the ILC, and take actions through the ILO against the Military Council that committed crimes.”
The Confederation of Trade Unions-Myanmar (CTUM) is currently garnering support for the proposal that the military regime should not represent Myanmar at the International Labour Conference (ILC).
4. Deputy Human Rights Minister U Aung Kyaw Moe calls for civilian protection and humanitarian law compliance in Northern Rakhine
U Aung Kyaw Moe, Deputy Minister of Human Rights within the National Unity Government (NUG), emphasised in a recent social media post the importance of protecting civilians and ensuring that all relevant parties strictly comply with humanitarian laws. This statement was made in response to the ongoing situations in northern Rakhine State.
He stated, “I have received alarming ground reports about the situation in northern Rakhine State. There is an urgent need to protect the civilian population, and it is crucial for all concerned parties to strictly adhere to humanitarian law. Rohingya civilians are the most vulnerable and have been identified by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) as those who must be protected. These events are being extensively documented, and justice must be served when the time is right.”
5. RCSS calls on Shan communities to join and support the ongoing revolution against injustice
The Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) has called upon the Shan people to actively participate and collaborate in the ongoing revolution, emphasising that every Shan community bears a responsibility to combat injustice. This appeal was made in conjunction with its statement marking the 66th anniversary of Shan National Revolution Day.
RCSS highlighted that Shan National Revolution Day holds significance as a day to honour and commemorate revolutionary patriots, leaders, soldiers, and individuals who sacrificed greatly during the long struggle for revolution. The council also announced that it had offered alms in dedication to revolutionary leaders and comrades who sacrificed their lives in the fight for the nation and nationalism.
Furthermore, RCSS expressed its commitment to engage in peaceful dialogues with relevant organisations to address and resolve issues towards the formation of a federal democratic union.
6. Local people’s defence team conducts security checks on Pathein-Monywa Highway in upper Minhla township
The Minhla People’s Defence Team (PDT) in the Magway Region, operating under the National Unity Government (NUG)’s Ministry of Defence, reported on May 21 that they had conducted inspections on key segments of the Pathein-Monywa Highway within Upper Minhla Township. During these inspections, the people’s defence soldiers greeted travellers warmly while checking and restricting the transportation of military junta-related products.
Additionally, the PDT conducted educational talks aimed at discouraging the sale and use of products associated with the military junta.
7. Kani Township Students’ Union establishes Lay Pyay Ni library with support from ‘The Way’ musical film family
On May 19, the Kani Township Students’ Union, a member organisation of the All Burma Federation of Student Unions (ABFSU), established the Lay Pyay Ni library with funds contributed by “The Way” musical film family in Kani township.
The Way musical film family is currently supporting those displaced by the military junta and the needs of the revolution.

7. In Thabeikkyin, local peope’s defence team arrests 7 junta-affiliated Pyu Saw Htee militia members
On May 20, Bo Lin Yone – Thabeikkyin Circuit people’s defence team (PDT) reported that seven junta-affiliated Pyu Saw Htee militia members were arrested in Thabeikkyin township, Mandalay Division.
The leader of the Bo Lin Yone group, Bo Zero One said that 7 Pyu Saw Hti members were arrested from villages such as Chaung Gyi, Leikkya, Kyauk Phyu, Zayet Kwin, (4) Mile, (6) Mile, Dwin Nge, Wut Nay, and Kwin (30) in Thabeikkyin township.
According to a member of the Singu Ground Information, those arrested Pyu Saw Htee members had received training from the military junta forces stationed at Ye Aye Dwin School and No. 13 unit in Chaung Gyi village, Thabeikkyin township.
During the inspection, they admitted that they attended the training from 7 to 14 days and received between 60,000 and 80,000 kyat as salary.
It was informed that only hand-made single-shot and Tumi guns were seized from them, and it is not yet known how they will be dealt with.
The Thabeikkyin Circuit PDT has warned all employees, including military junta’s armed force members, and militia training graduates in the Thabeikkyin to enter the legal fold as soon as possible.
9. Ambush on a military junta column in Tanintharyi results in elimination of a junta soldier

A military junta column from the 586th Light Infantry Battalion (LIB-586) based in Nyaungpingwin village, Tanintharyi township, Tanintharyi Region, was intercepted and a soldier was killed, according to Thanlwin Times News.
“On May 18, at around 11:00 am, the military junta column, which came out with a force of around 100, was intercepted by the joint People’s Defense Forces near Leltaungyar village. During the battle, which lasted for almost 10 minutes, one military junta soldier was killed and another was injured,” the information officer of the Red Wing People’s Defense Force told Thanlwin Times News.
Last May 13, another military junta column that entered Tanintharyi township was ambushed and at least three troops were injured.
In Tanintharyi township, thousands of local residents have been fleeing to safety due to the long-term fighting between the Military Council and the Joint Revolutionary Forces since last April.
10. Attack on a military junta camp inside a village monastery in Pakokku results in elimination of a junta soldier and injury of another

Pakokku People Defense Force (PPDF) reported that they launched an attack at a military junta camp stationed inside a monastery in Ashay Chauk Kan village, Pakokku township, Magway Region.
One junta soldier was reportedly killed and another was injured in the attack, and the revolutionary comrades were able to retreat unharmed.
11. Skirmish between military junta forces and YRA Htilin results in elimination of two junta troops and injuries of two others

On May 19, around 10:30 p.m., an intense exchange of fire erupted between junta soldiers scouting from the Yae Myet Ni village police outpost and comrades from the Yaw Revolution Army (YRA) Htilin—a coalition comprising the 15th, 16th, and 17th Battalions of the People’s Defence Force (PDF) under Gangaw District. The YRA Htilin had launched an ambush, sparking a battle that lasted over two hours.
Reports indicate that during the skirmish, two military junta soldiers were killed, and two others sustained serious injuries. Tragically, Deputy Section Commander Thet Khaing Kyaw (24) of the YRA Htilin lost his life due to enemy artillery fire.
“Comrade Thet Khaing Kyaw’s body was laid to rest in his native village, and the YRA comrades remain steadfast in their commitment to continue fighting until the realisation of the federal democracy sought by the people,” stated YRA Htilin.
