4. NUG’s Deputy Minister U Maw Htun Aung says that the earnings from the advertisements can arm the PDFs for revolution and help gain more ground control to break the military council’s mechanism

On April 10, U Maw Htun Aung, Deputy Minister of Electricity and Energy, made the following review regarding the impact of advertisements on the revolution:

“Internet advertising companies show appropriate ads based on the user’s location. The consumer product companies pay advertising fees to Internet advertising companies, such as Google and Facebook, which take their portion of ads revenue and give the rest to content publishers and app developers that host the ads. Therefore, the more people who use these applications regularly, the more ads revenue we can get. If we get more, we will be able to arm the PDF comrades with better weapons, and we will gain ground dominance to break the military council’s mechanism.”

Applications such as THA DINN, The PDF Game, and Click2Donate make money through advertising and use it to support the revolutionary forces.
