“It’s natural for people who are working for the country to have small frictions at one time or another that lead to solid conflicts. We have to build a better system while dealing with these conflicts,” said Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khaing Thann.

Then, they discussed the massacre of civilians in Hpruso Township of Kayah State, the massacre of monks and civilians in Namneng Village of southern Shan State, the massacre of 17 civilians and the rape and killing of 3 women in Tar Taing Village of Sagaing Division, the aerial bombardment of Letyetkone Village School in Tabayin Township of Sagaing Division, the aerial bombardment of civilians in A Nang Pa Village of Kachin State, and atrocities committed by the junta soldiers.

In addition, regarding the human rights violations and terrorist acts committed against civilians by the military council, they mutually discussed the areas where the two sides could cooperate to ensure that all involved parties, including the perpetrators, could be punished and the people could be protected.

The meeting was attended by the chairman and members of the Security and Defense Committee, the Union Minister, Permanent Secretary-1, Permanent Secretary-2, and officials of the Ministry of Human Rights.

Regarding the mass killings of civilians by the terrorist junta, the Ministry of Human Rights has announced that there have been 64 massacres across the country as of March 2021-2023, with a total of 766 deaths.

On behalf of the people of Myanmar, I once again appeal to those states which are exporting arms and ammunitions to the brutal military junta in Myanmar to stop arming them now.”

In addition, the representative reiterated that no self-respecting and responsible countries should sell their arms and associated technologies to any totalitarian brutal regimes, knowing well that these arms will not be used for national defense but for killing and maiming their own citizens that oppose the regimes.

6. The number of internally displaced persons in Myanmar has reached nearly 1.8 million

In April, the UN OCHA Myanmar reported that the number of internally displaced persons in Myanmar reached nearly 1.8 million.

“Conflicts continue in many states and divisions, including heavy weapon fire and airstrikes. In Kachin State, there have been airstrikes in Hpakant Township, explosions in Mohnyin Township, and junta columns marching in Hpakant, Shwegu and Sumprabum Townships, as well as civilian arrests and investigations. Therefore, more than 1,300 civilians from many villages in Shwegu Township have been displaced since early March and are living in 10 temporary camps and nearby forests. As of March 27, 2023, according to the latest figures from the United Nations, the number of internally displaced people across Myanmar has reached nearly 1.8 million,” it reported.

Of these nearly 1.8 million people, more than 1.4 million have fled their homes due to the conflict and insecurity that occurred after the February 2021 coup.

It is reported that those displaced from Shwegu Township are in need of food, shelter and other essential human necessities.

This is only being cut off in places where the grassroots live. It will also have a political purpose,” said a resident of Nay Pyi Taw.

The close combat lasted for about an hour and a half, and it is reported that three junta soldiers were killed and many were injured.

9. Areas between Myaing Township’s Pandaingdaw and Min Kan were fired upon by a junta’s aircraft

On April 6, the Black Panther Army of Yinmarbin District Battalion (11) informed the military news that a junta’s aircraft had fired areas between Pandaingdaw and Min Kan, Myaing Township, Magway Division.

“At 3:00 p.m. on April 6, two MI17s and one MI35 departed from Northwest Regional Command fired areas between Padaingdaw and Min Kan in Myaing Township,” it stated.

There was no causalities in the shooting and it is said that junta troops deployed south of Pan Village were picked up back by Mi 17 on April 5.

10. The sound of shock missiles and machine gun fire appeared near the Mingaladon Air Force Base

According to the Yangon Khit Thit news agency, at least 5 shock missiles and machine gun fire were heard near the Mingaladon Air Force Base in Yangon Division.

On April 6, from 9:15 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., the sound of five shock missiles and explosions was heard, followed by machine gun fire.

“The explosions were as loud as thunder. One shell after another exploded and there were 5 shots in a row. I don’t know which place they were targeting. The sound was heard in all of North Dagon, North Okkalapa, and Mingaladon Air Force. It may be that shock missiles were targeted at the Mingaladon Air Force. Now I can hear machine gun fire. The explosions were near the air force,” said a local resident.

At the time of the explosions, the lights were out all over Yangon and it is known that the people of North Okkalapa, North Dagon, and Thingyan Kyun definitely heard the explosion.
