Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) has the first meeting with the Kachin Political Interim Coordination Team (KPICT)

The first meeting of the Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) and the Kachin Political Interim Coordination Team (KPICT) was held on the evening of 19 August.

The meeting was led by Union Minister Mahn Winn Khaing Thann, Chairman of the Interim Local Administration Central Committee, and attended by committee member Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries and relevant officials.

Officials from the Kachin Political Interim Coordination Team (KPICT) also attended and the two sides had a friendly and open discussion, and the meeting was successfully adjourned at 8:30 pm.

Ministry of Human Rights launches an official YouTube channel and Twitter

On 20 August, Union Minister of Human Rights announced that the official YouTube channel and Twitter of the Ministry of Human Rights had been created.

“In the current period, as a terrorist military group is trying to seize people’s power unjustly, they are still making threats by blocking not only the daily movement processes of the people but also the right to use social media freely  that is a part of life and the most basic right to choose and decide. Therefore, I would like to mention the YouTube Channel and Twitter Channel platforms of the Ministry of Human Rights of the National Unity Government, which present the right information to the public so that the public can make good use of the benefits of technology and get the correct information more,” the Union Minister said.

Regarding military targets, Ministry of Defense exterminates based on participation in the military and participation in terrorist activities

U Naing Htoo Aung, Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, said that Ministry of Defense had set policy guidelines regarding military targets and exterminated them based on participation in the military and terrorist activities, although they might not be soldiers.

Civilian houses in Kyauk Htone Gyi in Katha Township were burned down by the military troops

On 20 August, Katha Township people’s defense force (pakapha) informed that civilian houses in Kyauk Htone Gyi in Katha Township were burned down by the military troops.

“On 19 August, 2 two-story houses and a wooden house in Kyauk Htone Gyi in Katha Township in the east side of Irrawaddy River were burned down by the 120-strong column of Shwe Ku (Kachin-based) infantry division 56 and 206,” Katha Township people’s defense force (pakapha) said.

It is said that the column had gone to Thatkechin village and was going to secure the military transport ship.

It is said that the military troops also threatened to return to Kyauk Htone Gyi once more and burn at least 27 more houses.

Ten landmines planted by the military troops on road the in front of Kayah Li Phu Baptist Church in Ruffelkhu ward were able to be cleared

On 19 August, Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF B19 Demoso Zone) reported that ten landmines planted by the military troops on the road in front of Kayah Li Phu Baptist Church in Ruffelkhu ward were able to be cleared.

“We are able to clear seven M16 mines, an M14 mine, a blast mine, and an anti-car mine, which were planted by the military troops on the main road in front of Kayah Li Phu Baptist Church in Ruffelkhu ward,” Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF B19) said.

It is also said that the military troops are deliberately setting mines on roads used by the public.

Therefore, KNDF B19 has announced that the public should be especially careful on the rod and if they have to use the road, they should ask and investigate the relevant battalions.

Kaung Kin force got hold of an automatic rifle and needed bullets

On 20 August, Kaung Kin force informed that they had obtained an automatic rifle and needed bullets.

According to local news sources, on 20 August, defense forces attacked the checkpoint stationed by police and a group of Pyu Saw Htee led by Kan Hla Pyu Saw Htee leader.

They said, “At about 8:30 am, PDF forces attacked the checkpoint stationed by police and a group of Pyu Saw Htee led by Pyu leader Win Kyaing from Kan Hla village on the Myingyan – Myotha road.”

It is also reported that there may be casualties among police and Pyu Saw Htee members.
