The military has been suffering consecutive losses on the battlefield and is forcibly recruiting soldiers, which has exacerbated the widespread displacement and humanitarian needs faced by the people.” According to a UNICEF report, out of 18.6 million people in need of humanitarian assistance, 6 million are children.

According to sources within the PDF, the imposters have been falsely claiming to represent the unit, stating they intend to reclaim the city and are asking for donations under this pretext. The group has set a goal of 10 million kyats and has been using the signatures of leaders from the Yangon PDF Unit 1 Zone 1 and Zone 2 to lend credibility to their requests. The PDF and other resistance organizations have clarified that they do not engage in such activities and that any fundraising efforts would adhere strictly to the regulations set by the Ministry of Defense. The public is urged to be aware of these scams.
